I Ask You.....Is P. Manning Done?

Would be interesting to see if elway cuts him

I think some of you are going way too far with this.

Yes, Manning has definitely lost arm strength. As a matter of fact, he has lacked arm strength since his surgery, before he even came to Denver.

That said, he's still the 3rd rated QB (behind Rodgers and Brady) in the league due to his experience, intelligence, ability to pre-read defenses, and ability to take advantage of mismatches. In other words, all of those excellent qualities help to mask his deficiencies.

John Elway would likely laugh in your face if you asked him about "cutting" Peyton freaking Manning. He had a chance at the #1 seed up until 18 hrs ago. C'mon...

Once again, it's gonna take another January game performance like last night's for Elway to go there

I think Peyton will have one good playoff game after his rest home, I mean rest.

Forehead gives more ducks flight than the Robertson family, and has now up'ed his game to choking in prime time to Andy Dalton during the crunch of the regular season.

He's more done than the steak I burned last night whilst distracted by his awesome play.
Where the **** have you been?

Take a look at Manning's year, but start it with the Patriots game. His 2014 is basically a tale of 2 seasons.

Look, I love bashing on Manning as much as anyone else here but saying he is "done" is absurd.

4,454 yards
39 TDs / 15 INTS
102.9 QB Rating

He is still without a doubt top 5 QB (statistically ranks 4th) in the NFL.

That's for the entire season. For the second half of the season, he's been in a steady and rather sharp decline.

It seems that 3/4 of Manning's good throws are deep lobs down the right sideline. He can't get the ball to the left. Double D. Thomas over there and force him to throw elsewhere.

2 good games out of 8 while relying on the run more would have me nervous if I was a fan.

I am really curious to see how Elway evaluates !annings arm at the end of the season, as I have said before I have never seen an NFL QB with an arm this weak.

Actually 6th if you count playoffs
2001 v SF, 2007 v SD (6 int), 2010 vs SD, 2010 v Dal, 2014 v Cinn, and 2004 playoffs v NE.
Brady also has thrown 4 int in a game six times but only once in the last 8 yrs (2011 Buf, 2001 Den, 2003 Buf, 2004 Miami, 2005 KC, 2006 Ind)

I'd believe that. I was quoting the graphic thrown up during the game.

He has definitely had some epic (and extremely entertaining) fails in the post-season. While regular season Manning face is good, it is not nearly as satisfying as the post-season Manning face.

That's what I have been seeing as well.

Figure in weather conditions, cold, wind or snow etc and stoppin their running game, I don't think PM gets it done throwing

That's no different than it was 5, 10, or 15 years ago.

He has always crapped the bed in bad weather & age have little to do with it.

Even Colts fans have come around to that. If you waved some magic wand and made Brady a Colt and Manning a Patriot 14 years ago, in Foxboro Manning would have built the legacy of a September-to-November stat padder extraordinaire who regularly crapped the bed when the weather turned, and would have been lucky to have gotten 1 or 2 rings, whereas Brady in a dome, with little dropoff on the road or outside, would have 2 or 3 rings in Indy.

I wonder how Manning's arm would be evaluated at the Combine?
It would probably look a lot better, because he wouldn't be under pressure and he'd be able to make sure his mechanics were sound. When he's able to be -perfectly- sound, he can still make some throws. But that requires and absolutely clean pocket and time to step into the throw.

Plus it would be indoors ;)

I don't know, but frankly, I am glad the whole Peyton Manning and Donkeys ball washing from earlier in the season has died out. Especially after he broke Favre's record. I couldn't watch TV, it was unbearable.

I don't know, I thought last night might have hit peak Manning ball washing for the season. Manning tosses a duck for an interception and Gruden exclaims 'You rarely see Manning do that in a clutch situation!'

I hear ya but my point is even more so now with his injuries starting to show, figure in age, wear & tear. Is he declining or is he injured or both? All I know is if anytime in his career he looked beatable, it's now.
