I Ask You.....Is P. Manning Done?

Beginning of this season, Especially after MNF vs Chiefs, people were saying that performances of Brady & Pats are they DONE? is their run of being dominate over? Mediots, Haters lined up to take shots at us only to see Brady & Pats turn it around and take HF in Playoffs and some made apologies.

So I Ask You, Is P. Manning Done? Mediots will not ask this question because it's law in TV Land NOT to Bash P.M. but OK to make Brady their whippin boy. If Broncos have to come to Gillette ( Just Sayin) PM doesn't scare me like he did in past. Figure in weather conditions, cold, wind or snow etc and stoppin their running game, I don't think PM gets it done throwing with our D at full strength,
Thoughts???
Age plays a huge factor as recovery from a full season of getting pounded takes its toll.
I see both Brady and Manning having issues.

Brady: antsy in the pocket and rushing throws due to offensive Offensive line play.

Manning: Looks worn out, extended forehead, Frankenstein neck, noodle arm.

That has nothing to do with age. That has everything to do with crappy line play.

Those have nothing to do with age. Those have everything to do with being ugly and hurt.

Some of his throws were good. When he had some time and could set his feet. Some not so good. The pick 6 was a bizarrely awkward bad throw.

I can't argue with that.
But I hate putting super bowl hopes on the skills of Deontae Skinner vs Akeem Ayers and Joe Vellano vs. Alan Branch or anybody else for that matter..

Fixed that for ya, Mr. "I Don't Understand There is a Salary Cap and 53 Players on a Team".

Probably should have added more on Brady.
Neither QB passes the eyeball test.
(I would still take Brady in this year's playoffs)

Can't really complain as a Boston sports fan.
8 championships in the last 14 years.

...and one that hes made before many times. Both legs together, fading backwards and nothing on the ball.

I understand they signed Lagarette Blount when they were supposedly" spent right up to the cap we got to pay bonuses" ******** too.

I don't give a fck what you say they left themselves light on the O line.

Manning is mentally just as sharp as ever. He is masterful at reading defenses and calling plays. There really hasn't been any fall off there - give him time and he'll make the right decision 99% of the time.

Manning's arm is toast. If he has time and gets his body lined up properly he can still put something on it, but he has no arm strength per se. Rush his mechanics and there will be a ton of errant throws, as there were yesterday. He attempted 44 passes, and about a quarter of them were really shaky. I don't think that will be good enough to win in the playoffs.

Yup I agree you nailed it on bein antsy, rushin throws etc IS DUE TO Poor Offensive Line Play and THAT is what seperates Brady from other QBs in pocket. Give him time and he will carve you up. RegardLESS of his receiving/running corp. We can see a difference when Brady steps up, moves around buyin time how it has helped him on completions and some running plays but when your gettin Bull Rushed I don't care whose playin QB, their goin down.

Yes and this is a major difference from slingin ball in tight areas or back peddling, wrong foot heaves that before he could make. He's got a top Offense as always from WR, TE, RB. there is no EXCUSE how dominate they can be. I'm not sayin their Done just that there is a Fall Off of PMs skills and it can be taken advantage of when before is was close to automatic.

I've noticed before, when Manning gets lined up properly and gets his body behind his throws, he looks pretty good. He doesn't have Brady velocity, but he has more than enough to get the ball to where it needs to be. He benefits tremendously from not having to throw into tight windows. Demaryius Thomas in particular is masterful at running routes and getting separation. I wouldn't trust Manning to rifle the ball in a tight window, but I think he has more than enough to get the ball downfield to the open receiver.

But when Manning gets rushed, or out of rhythm, or when he doesn't get his feet set properly and have time to get his body weight behind his throws, it gets ugly fast. I think that NE, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh can all give him trouble in the AFC. Seattle, Arizona and Detroit would give him trouble in the NFC.

Something seems wrong with Peyton. I don't think he is 100% healthy and I suspect the Broncos are concealing an injury.
Someone posted a gif in a different thread, his plant leg seems to be all screwed up.

Getting way ahead of myself here, but if the Broncos don't make it to the AFCCG, let alone the SB, I think that Peyton retires after this season. Two things to remember:

1) Manning has no contractual obligation to the Broncos, beyond "year to year." He has an annual post-season "review" of his physical well being built into his arrangement with Denver. As far as it has ever been made known to the public, Peyton and Peyton alone determines what he thinks that review means for him. The Broncos and Elway have no say.

2) He has been with Denver for three seasons and is 38 years old. 38 is the age at which Elway retired. None of us have any way of knowing this, but it wouldn't surprise me if his "handshake" deal with Elway was to give it his best shot for three seasons to bring an SB back to Denver, with Elway in turn promising to surround him with the best weapons available on the market and within the Cap. In January, both would have fulfilled their parts of the bargain.

I agree with that. Don't forget what other team was using 6 O lineman too.
Once again Brady can do more with less. Manning still doesn't have to deal with the pressure Brady does.
Which was my complaint. Why does Brady have to settle for less than Manning. When Brady goes out of his way to help the team with his contract.
Revis.

I think that regardless of how this season ends, Manning will see how he feels and make a decision based on that. Does he feel that his body is up for the grind, and how badly does he want to chase more records. I think the odds are that this kind of season is the best that Manning can hope for next year - one in which he puts up big numbers, but in which his play wears down over the course of a long season.

Can't disagree with that. Only Peyton can know how he makes the tradeoffs among wearing down, his career stats and how he actually feels, because what your post really implies (and I would agree) is that he is no longer able to play to the full extent of his abilities into late December and January, which he would have to do to bring home another ring and which means that his (and Elway's) dreams of another Lombardi were probably buried in the Meadowlands last February.

So tell me, did you watch the game before that against Miami?

Demaryius Thomas is crazy if he takes a hometown discount. Not knowing who your QB will be in your prime? Pass.

Manning's recent poor play could backfire in resigning D. and J. Thomas.
