Brady Blames Protection Problems on Communication, Not Ability

I can imagine Rexy has been studying our go to plays too, making Brady hesitate. If Fleming really settled us down (I'm guessing the play selection and execution played a large part too, though) that's something. Maybe try to work him in ASAP. He seems to be a quick study (tight end work).

The biggest miscommunication was the sack where Solder was left to try and block I believe it was Babin, Richardson and Davis on his own. That shouldn't have been allowed to happen.

Especially since Kline turned inside to helped Stork and neither guy blocked anyone on that play. So Solder was asked to block three defenders while two o-linemen blocked no one on that play.

Makes sense that communication was an issue with so many OL changing spots all of the time. The OL looked like it did early in the season when they also played musical chairs.

Brady was merely being protective of his teammates. He knows as well as most of us that his OL sucks.

Reiss in his 1st quarter break down, gave this report on the first 3 sacks. The first was the fault of either Brady or Stork, because the wrong line call was made which set the protection AWAY from the blitz. The next one was Richardson abusing Kline. The last one was a momentary hesitation by Gronk and Solder on who would take who on a stem by 2 outside rushers. Reiss couldn't tell who was to blame. Also it was clear from his report, a LOT of the pressure throughout the entire game was caused by Sheldon Richardson. First it was Kline, then it was Wendell, and others as well. He was truly an equal opportunity OL abuser.

But the point is that Brady was partially right. A lot of the problems early on (3 sacks) came from communication or read issues. Things that didn't occur after the first quarter. However a lot of the hits and hurries that occurred throughout the game was do to linemen being beaten by their man. But I would suggest that a major portion of those beatings were at the hands of Sheldon Richardson. Thank god their aren't many like him.
