Seahawks look scary

Arizona started 8-1. Since losing Palmer they are 3-3. I don't think the 11-4 record indicates where Arizona is at. Without Palmer they're a .500 team. Seattle is a great, they are the Champions for a reason, but they're beatable, and have been beaten 4 times this year.

And I would love to see Sherman getting physical and yapping at Gronk. He'll find out what physical play is when he's layed out in the stands.

Gronk would make Sherman his b*tch. Gronk is would just run right through him. I would love Seattle trying to put Sherman on Gronk

It's gimmicky to you because all their pass catchers are average, there's really no elite option for Wilson. Just a bunch of JAGs.

I was thinking of the defensive scheme.

Its the same defense that lit up Manning last year in the Superbowl and Rodgers earlier in the season, except they're without a few backup lineman and their starting tackle Mebane, but they still rush the passer extremely well even with their replacements.

Buffalo held GB to 13 points, 3 less points than Seattle did and then Buffalo allowed the Raiders to put up 26 points a week later.

Why would they put Sherman on Gronk? He will be too busy shutting down Lafell or whomever ventures to his side.

I'd bet on a combo of KJ Wright/Kam Chancellor.

Russell Wilson is the worst possible matchup for Belichick. BB is mediocre to bad vs Mobile QB's and RW is the cream of the crop in that regard.

I'll pass given the choice.

Really?
Andrew Luck is very mobile. So is Big Ben. Pats have played quite a bit better than "mediocre" against those guys. And obviously same vs Tebow.
Last time they faced Russell Wilson - and game was in Seattle...293 yards passing allowed and only 17 yards rushing allowed to the QB. The 293 included the bomb to Rice. Not too shabby.

I'm sure there are other examples of the BB Pats playing well vs mobile QBs.

Because Sherman is their best CB and Gronk is the patriots best receiving option.

Your sig pic claims Sherman had a 1400 SAT, he had a 990/1060 retest. Not good enough to get into Stanford without an athletic scholarship where he then majored in the athlete special of communications. I don't know if he had a 3.9, or if that comes from the same source as the SAT score.

Off the top of my head, they held a Rodgers led offense to it's lowest home point total all season.

Sherman is 190lbs. He won't be on Gronk, that's silly.

As far as my sig? Meh. Point stands. Sounds pretty anti thuggish to me.

seattle would crush us unfortunately.

He was good against Luck, he has been in every matchup thus far. We lost that game against RW, and he was a rookie. He's a much better player now. Big Ben isn't mobile as much as he is tough to bring down. He rarely rattles off runs like Geno, Luck, RW etc. are capable of.

You can't tell me that you watched both Jets games as well as last year's game where Geno had his way, as well as the plethora of games where we just got handled.

Hell, EJ Manuel looked like an NFL starter against us as well.

They put Sherman on Jimmy Graham. Sherman is one of the bigger corners in the NFL, it would make perfect sense to put him on Gronk. What's the other option? Use a smaller corner? A LB?

I don't know if that's what they'd do but it's certainly not silly.

I'm not even willing to go as far to say they would crush us, but the Cowboys win people are citing is as appropriate as using the Chiefs game against us. That isn't who they are today.

I like our chances of running it if we stuck with it. I like Gronk against anybody because he is a top 3 TE in NFL history. Brady is better in big games than Manning so very little chance of him crapping himself when things get tough, I LOVE our secondary against their WR corps(worst in the league of any contender IMO)

But.... QB is one of the most important positions in sports. I think RW would give us the Ving Rhames Pulp fiction treatment. I also don't think our offense puts up more than 17- 21 so we would need to shut RW down and limit his play extending.

I'm really bummed, it's only December and the Patriots have already lost the Super Bowl.

Oh well, on to the Draft. Welcome back Milk Carton Kids, good thing they lost or we wouldn't have seen you until Belichick screwed up another Draft.

I don't think I've said that the Patriots are losing once. I just don't think they match up well against Seattle. Who is to say either team even gets there?

Listen, I would love for them to handicap one of the best corners in the league by giving him a 70lb+ disadvantage. Great for us.

I would like to see the numbers of snaps he actually played Graham, also was that a function of the saints lining Graham up to Sherman's side or the Hawks actively shadowing Graham.

The elephant in the room tho is Graham ain't no Gronk. while Graham is a big dude he doesn't exactly throw his weight around like Gronk. Doesn't use his body to punish defenders and pile up yardage after contact like him either.

The Seahawks have VERY athletic LB's and EXCELLENT safety play. I don't know why they wouldn't just body up Graham that way, but what do I know. Would love to see Sherman on Gronk.

Me either. Haven't said we would lose. It's clearly not a great matchup from a Pats' fan perspective. But it would be a great game for a neutral. I think we could beat the Packers by multiple scores on a neutral field however.

Agreed, Either team could get popped before then, so why does it even matter what's said in December.

People wanna bring up what Russell Wilson did in 2012. Yet refuse to acknowledge the fact that Brady threw for 400 yards against them in Seattle and had them in the lead and only lost because a rookie didn't GTFB

Lets make sure we MAKE it first before talking about scary

Sherman doesn't switch sides so he definitely wouldn't be covering Gronk. He would be on LaFell or Edelman. Wright or Chancellor would cover Gronk and both are athletic and physical enought to slow him down. If they keep Edelman in the slot the majority of the time, Maxwell would guard him.

Luck and Roethlisberger run only when they have to. They prefer to be pocket passers. The Seahawks have plays drawn up where Wilson takes it himself. He is the leading rusher for a quarterback in the NFL.

Because Sherman is their best CB and Gronk is the patriots best receiving option.

The Seahawks do not flip their corners.
