The Sunday night game on NBC week 17 has already been chosen (Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh)

I read somewhere on twitter today that the rest of the times for week 17 will be released after Monday nights Denver/Cincinnati game. From what I understand, if the broncos beat the bengals, there's a good chance that out game vs Buffalo gets flexed to 4:25 instead of 1pm. The idea behind it is that both NE and Denver would have something to play for (home field throughout the AFC) and therefore the NFL would want both games on at the same time. Since raiders vs broncos obviously couldn't be flexed to 1pm, we get flexed to 4:25. Same thing happened last year in week 17

Anybody hear anything about this yet? I'm only going off what I read from twitter, but it would appear as if this is the case. If cincy wins on Monday night, in all likelihood pats-bills stay at 1 since NE won't have anything to play for

Are there any Saturday games next week?

If Broncos win I imagine the game would be flexed to 4:25.

No.

No more Thursday, Saturday, or Monday night games after tomorrow's matchup.

All you have to do is look at last year and you'll get your answer.

Other than the Sunday night game, all other games are 1:00 PM (or noon) local time and divisional games as well. I think they did that to minimize the impact of travel and even the playing field for teams that make the playoffs and might have to play the following Saturday. You don't want team flying home late on Sunday night and be at a disadvantage if thy are the wild card team and have to travel for a road game the following Saturday.

If you think travel is the reason for that I got news for you, it isn't.

Money says they keep the Pats at 1:00. That way Denver will stay at 4:00 and they will know if they have something to play for or can rest the exalted one.

hopefully the Broncos lose tonight, but hoping Cincy comes through in a primetime game, is pretty much always a losing proposition.

I like the 4pm games so I kinda hope they do get flexed. I think there is decent chance they will be.

I agree, I think the Pats/Bills will be flexed to 4:25 if Denver wins tonight.
Since I'm guessing, let's go with Panther/Falcons moved to 4:25 along with one or both of Brown/Ravens and Chargers/Chiefs.

Why would panthers falcons get flexed? The outcome of that game has Zero impact on anyone else playoff opportunity or seeding wise

Games that have impact one other games are the ones that get flexed to same time in order to keep them "competitive" and present a "good product" for fans

Eg if pats and broncos have chance at 1 seed put at same time so they play out vs pats wrapping it up at 1 and broncos resting players at 4

If Denver wins tonight and the Pats get flexed to 4, Browns/Ravens and Chargers/Chiefs will stay at 1 every other game at 1PM is bad and meaningless. So CBS will keep those two games at 1 especially SD/KC because that's a playoff game for SD and I'm sure they would like that to be their top game for 1PM. Which means they will keep Browns/Ravens at 1 because if SD was to win it would make the Ravens game meaningless.

As for Panthers/Falcons that will stay at 1pm because that is a playoff game. Plus GB/Detroit was flexed to 4 last night so FOX cleary wants that game to be in as many markets as possible.

I didn't realize the GB/Detroit game was already flexed. I was guessing Panthers/Falcons thinking that Fox would want a playoff type game at 4. Good point on the implication of SD winning at 1. I'd still like to see some game from CBS flexed to 4 that has a win and in, lose and out impact but if that leaves nothing meaningful at 1, then I guess no moves.

Going into this past weekend, I was thinking there were going to be several games with high stakes which would make for some great Sunday drama but it looks like things have cleared up considerably. I kind of wish Buffalo didn't sh!t the bed yesterday because of Cinci wins tonight, then we'll be seeing plenty of reserves.

Wouldn't seeing the reserves be a good thing? I'd be thrilled if we had the #1 seed wrapped up tonight without the need to risk injury next week to our players (most importantly Brady, Gronk, and Revis)

Wait a second, so the Cowboys will NOT be playing the Sunday Night game on the last weekend of the year?!!?!?!?

That's different

and on a side note, how lucky are we to be Pats fans and be in the playoffs (rather consistently too)? I mean, it would be very disappointing as an NFL fan to have this be your last weekend to watch your team play prior to next September.

The NFL season always just flies by.

Don't get me wrong; I certainly like the idea of being the number 1 seed before next week's game but I just love watching this team compete and grind (like yesterday) when there something on the line and while resting starters for the purpose of preventing injury is wise, there isn't a backup for every starter so you can't guarantee perfect health.

knowing the league, if 5head wins tonight, the broncos will play at 4:25 and the pats will play at 1pm.

The league wants to give peyton as much time off as possible so if the pats secure the #1 next week, they want peypey to have that extra week of rest to get his body right.

Well unlike the past years 3 they actually hadn't choked and made the final game a division title game. If they would have lost yesterday their game definitely would have been SNF

It is one of the reasons. though I probably should have clarified it as preparation time due to deceased travel time. Can you imagine the b*tching is an east coast team had a Sunday night game on the west coast and then was the road team for a wild card the week later, possibly on Saturday? The intradivison games are more likely to be relevant in week 17 which usually means they are within the same time zone (StLouis and KC in the west exception....)
