The Patriots vs Jets POST Game Thread

Pats haven't allowed a TD in the 2nd half in the last 5 games...wow

I'll take an ugly win any time. The Jets were super hyped to play us and Rexy tried his besty but it wasn't enough to beat us.

On to the Bills!

Good news for Pats. Rex is gone and Philbin will be back.

Great teams win close games, because anyone can win in a rout. The best teams year in and year out are the ones who always keep fighting, never quit, and find a way to pull a game out...this is our 2014 New England Patriots.

I'm most encouraged by this: For years, we've been wanting this team to be able to win any kind of game. Shoot-out, slugfest, defensive struggle, track meet, whatever. This year the Pats have won two games when they've scored 17 or fewer points. And in games where they've scored 23 points or fewer, they're 3-3 (wins vs SD, NYJ, Oak - 2 of 3 of those on the road; losses vs KC, Mia, GB - all on the road).

At home, they have:

- scored an average of 36.4 points
- allowed an average of 16.7 points
- NET: +19.7

On the road, they have:

- scored an average of 25.5 points
- allowed an average of 22.4 points
- NET: +3.1

Clearly, being home for the Patriots is huge. And they have a chance to make sure that they have no more road games this year. Winning against Buffalo (or Cincy winning tomorrow night) assures the Pats that someone is going to have to come into Gillette and knock them off.

I died twice during that game.

BUFFY, WILLOW, TARA, XANDER & ANYA What can't we do
If we get in it?
We're working through
Within a minute

ALL
We have to try
We'll pay the price
It's do or die

BUFFY
Hey, I've died twice!

BUFFY, WILLOW, TARA, XANDER & ANYA
What can't we face
If we're together?
What's in this place
That we can't weather?

There's nothing we can't face!

ANYA Except for bunnies...

People on this board have been watching football too long to not understand that a divisional rival playing their superbowl will be a dog fight. Blowouts aren't a gimme in this league and against MIA last week we had to earn the right to blow them out.

1) Amendola has confirmed that his limited production is a product of being behind Edelman.
2) Josh Kline is worse than Duane Starks was. Kline being next to Solder makes Solder play worse.
3) Collins and Hightower are MEN.

Agree.

Classic trap game, and we still pulled out a win. Nothing much to be mad about there.

No surprise, but how "easy" a win is each week seems to come down to O-line play. If those guys can play there best, I think we can beat any team in the league. When those guys get beat, or don't play to their potential, things get hard. It's basic football but the thing I keep coming back to is how darn good our Defense is overall this year. They keep us in games, even when the O isn't clicking on all cylinders.

Steelers would demolish this ol.

First time, he went to hell.
Second time, he went to heaven.

He came back both times, because he found out that Hell only serves light beer, and Heaven doesn't have NFL season ticket due to a pricing dispute with DirectTV.

In Heaven the lovers are Italian, the cooks are French, the police are English, and it's all run by the Germans.

In Hell the lovers are German, the cooks are English, the police are French, and it's all run by the Italians.

I am surprised the coaches didn't see this coming and adjust the game plan accordingly. Buffalo is a threat as well hopefully they wake up

Are you kidding. The Steelers have no pass rush and basically win shootouts with their offense.
Dude should really pass me whatever it is he's smoking!!!

Win and no more injuries, I'll take it. Obviously got to do better on the OL though moving forth.

I've been one of Amendola's biggest critics, but without him we lose that game and HFA depending on what Denver does. Huge return early on leading to a TD when the whole team was struaggling and then the receptions on the final drive.

When was the last time we lost at home to Buffalo? 2000 ?

Well a win is a win. Now I'm a Bengals fan for the next 2 days.
I thought from the TV angle that was short by an inch but you really can't tell from that angle.
Patriots OL was beaten by the Jets all day. Did Connelly being out make that much of a difference?
Hopefully next week will be meaningless and we can rest some of the starters.
Definitely looked short on TV but it was a bad spot

The Pats won a division game, on the road, without their best WR & RB. I'll take that any day, twice on Sundays

Buffalo isn't looking too dangerous right now...
