The Patriots vs Jets POST Game Thread

I'm surprised no one was injured as I was told Ryan is a scumbag who would intentionally injure players to win. Lucky he wasn't in scumbag mode today :p

So what did they do? First series...THREE PASS PLAYS..and out. They let Gee-No!! sit in the pocket the entire first half.Kerley burned them just like I said he would. They played soft zone defense over and over in the secondary. There was no need for this close of a game....but, for some reason they did exactly what they SHOULDN'T have done with this putrid Jets team...again.

Take the win, throw the entire garbage tape of this fiasco and crap can it. If a fan can call the tenor of a game the day before then, jeezus, maybe this staff should rethink their pregame strategies. You have a suffocating man secondary. You have beasts in Hightower and Collins. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!!! Open the damned game by establishing at least the INTENT to run the ball. So sick of this "genius" McD asshat offensive plans.

"Better to give up a 20 yard pass than to let Geno Smith run for 5 yards."
- Bill Belichick

We won, as I suspected we would have trouble because of coaching and execution. We were lucky not the sign of a SB champ. Let's hope for some help from Ciinncy because Buffalo has our name on their lockerroom door.

A win is a win and I'll take it!! Glad to see Amendola have a good game and hope come playoff time Connolly and Edleman will be ready to go.

A win is a win. Was Green Bay a SB team last week? Philly this week? Seattle lucky to win last week?
How about Denver last week? The Ravens today?

Not trying to be a wise-ass, but a win is a win is a win...in a league where any given Sunday...

And division games are BRUTAL.

AFCE games are always dogfights. I've said that before, and I'll keep banging that drum. No matter how well New England plays against other NFL teams, when they play within the division, it's almost always a close game vice a blowout. It's the nature of the beast, the nature of playing each other twise a year, every year. I would've liked the Patriots to have been 34-19 winners, but a W is a W and I'm happy with this, 1st round bye for sure, and 1st seed if they beat the Bills next weekend. I'm good with that.

Having said that, I would add this: I stay out of the gameday thread because it seems to me that the majority of commenters are drunken, chicken-littles or opposition trolls who clog up the threads with their "sky is falling" or "Pats Suck!" comments. I fully support folks having their say, but for heaven's sakes, anyone who goes into those threads without a large bottle of Prozac needs some serious therapy.

YMMV, but that's how I see things.

Don't think O Linemen were losing a lot of "1 on 1" matchups like the announcers said. I'm sure films will show ryan throwing the kitchen sink at us with the rush, with no regard for risk on his part. I saw one play where Stork was in the middle of the line looking for anybody to block, with no one for three yards on either side of him as the Jets overloaded both sides on a rush.

amazing how easily we then moved the ball with quick developing short passes and runs, then we tried slow developing passes too early and got sacked.

Respect your strength. dink and dunk them to death, then try something else after you make them adjust.

Good freakin workout, though. A little graduate school for the grener linemen.

The ref for this game is a rookie, Brad Allen. Calls nearly twice as many penalties on the visiting team as the home team. Here's his crew's stats...

Looks like open season on Brady and if the Pats retaliate, THEY will be flagged first.

and not to belabor a point that some Pats fans refuse to believe in, BUT...did you SEE the bullshyt this ref crew came up with today? I'm not even going to begin to list the egregious non calls for the Pats and the calls FOR the Jets. They did exactly what they have established as a crew the entire season. Again, the Pats coaching staff should have been well aware of this and made it a point to get in their ears early. If this was basketball, Gronk would have fouled out the entire secondary in the 1st half. TWICE, helmets were ripped off with clear hands on the face mask of Pats receivers...no call. Bullshyt. It's clear, home field advantage or face crapfest officiating like this on the road in Denver. Buffalo is a must win unless Cincy pulls the upset.

We all knew this game was going to be hell. Division game. Team fighting hard for their soon-to-be ex-coach who has a long track record of dialing up defenses that give this team fits.

Don't discount luck as a necessary ingredient to becoming a SB Champ.

My refs in HS were better. My god.

I might be having a blond moment, but why would you be a smart ass when that's what I said? lol

They sat Kline and moved Wendy back to LG in the 2nd half. They should have played Wendell there to start with and played Fleming over Kline. Why they did what they did you'll have to ask DeGug, but when your successful line has Wendell at LG and Connolly at RG, why are you not just subbing for Connolly at RG?? Again, some curious pregame strategic decisions by this staff.

Because I had an old-man moment and quoted the wrong post.

Should have been the one saying they didn't look like an SB team today.

Sorry!

Great teams win close games, because anyone can win in a rout. The best teams year in and year out are the ones who always keep fighting, never quit, and find a way to pull a game out...this is our 2014 New England Patriots.

I may be mistaken, but I believe Connolly played LG and Wendel RG for the most part of the last 10 weeks.

It was the game of the year for the Jets, not sure what people were expecting. Not to mention these games are always hard to begin with.

The offense wasnt very good and Oline looked the same as the first week but at least they dug deep and came out with a win. I'll take that.

I must be going dyslexic...as well as senile. Anyway, it worked. Kline was a hot mess and Fleming is a RG so they had to move Wendy to LG anyway
