The Official Patriots vs Jets Game Thread

I've confidence the Pats will come out and play better the second half. I believe they'll take this one home. But if they don't start when the game does, they're not going far in the playoffs. This lethargy by the O line sucks badly.

One win isn't going to change Ryan's fate. I'm rooting for us to win. Why? Well, because I hate your franchise, coach, and QB, and I'd love to see you guys get embarrassed in Denver in the playoffs.

As you should.

what a ugly first half that was. i hope bb rips them a new one.
Ugly indeed, though not sure BB ripping anyone will solve anything. They need to put their collective heads together and make NY pay for their blitzes. The Jets clawed their way back into this game; the 3 points is less worthwhile than the confidence they have that they can win this game.

Taking the lead back on the next possession would be great, but, NE doesn't have the greatest track record with their opening 2nd half drives.... they gotta get the Jets D-line back on their heels.

No HFA = No chance at another Lombardi. To all u knuckleheads saying this game doesn't matter.

I wouldn't go that far.

It would still mean 2 weeks rest and a likely first round bye, just that we'd have to return to DEN again should it go that route.

This WR core has the same issues in past years. They cant get open quickly .
Same goes for the DLine. We aren't a team that can win immediately. How often do you see a Pats wr beat a jam and get wide open? How often do you see chandler jones and co just make one move and beat his offensive lineman? Everything we do even when we do it well seems to be slow and long developing. Sick of seeing chandler with these wide rushes that take him out of the play until the last second where he finally sheds his blocker. Most of the time it's too late by then.

OLine has to play MUCH better, but this team has way more than enough talent on the field today that they should be winning this game.

Let's hope those halftime adjustments get this team rolling. Would be embarrassing to lose home field because of a loss to the 3-11 Jets.

I still want a deep threat. All you need is good protection for ONE play and the result is either a long TD or a big chunk of yardage. Otherwise, dinking & dunking our way down field relies on consistent, near flawless protection from our o-line (which it seemingly cannot do. especially whenever 1 guy goes down like Connoly)

CBS is going to have nothing to say when Jets fall apart in the second half. I think we'll get tim wright involved.

I hope the Pats aren't expecting them to "fall apart"o_O

I wouldn't so sure about that unless woody sells the team.

This isn't one half of football.
Come off it. That is exactly what this is, pal. One half of football. Get over your whiny emotions for a second and look at it objectively. The second half hasn't even started yet.

No HFA = No chance at another Lombardi. To all u knuckleheads saying this game doesn't matter.

C'mon dude... The Pats can go into Denver or wherever and win the AFCCG. Obviously HFA increases our chances, but to say we have no chance is just crazy. Don't let this first half cloud your judgement.

Game is irrelevant? Is home field advantage throughout the playoffs not important to you? The Patriots are a lot better team at home then on the road.

It's irrelevant because I don't believe we're gonna lose.

Also because we aren't gonna face a team that not only should we beat but have already beat throughout the playoffs.

emotion is a huge part of football, how many times does this need to be said.....don't go out there and get pushed around man....call more run plays and move this defense back....come on man home field is on the line here....wake up...!

When a team is rushing four , and getting pressure, that's GREAT DL play. You don't watch the Jets DL much do you?
It's both.

Yeah, I definitely think it's both.

That said, some here tend to underrate the NYJ DL, which seems to be awfully short-sighted. They have a tough front with Wilkerson and Richardson.

That JAG who is covering Gronk is playing him inside every time. Gronk should be able to burn him easily on a go route.

Hoping Ian comes in and throws some more fans "out of the club." Just pathetic how, some fans react with 30 minutes of football left.

The Pats have killed them in the last few games with screens to Vereen in the flat (well, the last few games Vereen has played). The one time they used him today in that capacity, he got 9 yards. Need to use him more.

Nailed it. They are trying to force the ball downfield too much against a good, attacking DL. Get the ball outside with screens to Vereen, LaFell, etc. Has worked in the past against the Jets and minimizes the Jets strength.

Shame James White isn't ready. I wouldn't mind switching Vereen to WR with Edelman out.
