Edelman OUT vs. Jets

This Jets game has the feel of a PHI-WASH upset earlier today. You guys certainly are optimistic about Amendola--who just can't get open in the NFL. Pats seem to always get unfortunate at the wrong time with these darn injuries and screw up their SB chances.

I think Edelman's replacement is a committee.

One thing Rex has done effectively against the Pats in the past is flood the middle of the field and assume that's where the Pats' receivers will be. Hence we need sideline/deep options. Hello Tyms.

On the other hand, he's also a mad blitzer. So going too heavy on the deep threats isn't the correct choice either.

LeGarrette Blount also out. Jonas Gray time. How did we suddenly have so many injuries?

I'm guessing that Belichick is simply attempting to properly manage the kind of nagging injuries that often present themselves at the end of the season---minus the unfortunate situation of Edelman, who didn't receive his concussion clearance in time (although still may not have played that much, who knows?).

If we can luck up a bit and see Cincy pull off a win at home on MNF vs. DEN, we can safely continue to give these guys their proper rest, and actually have about a full month for them to recover. That's huge.

Of course, I'm assuming that a certain red-headed pick throwing machine is actually going to step up and play well enough to give DEN a game on Monday night, so that may be my biggest mistake right there.

why not??? There's a goddamned hurricane raging in another thread over Brady's contract. Seems the whole fanbase is seeing phantoms and gargoyles now that the playoffs are around the corner.

Yeah--what the hell is that all about in the other thread re: Brady and his contract?

What in the world?

Every play is a screen to Vereen or a deep pass to Gronk. It's the only way to win

I'm hoping that we see a nice defensive performance, with an effective running game on offense.

I don't want to see Geno or the Jets RBs having career days again tomorrow. I'm expecting a much stingier D on our end.

Anyone waiting for Tyms to come up big better not be waiting under water. I'll believe it when I see it. The Adam Seward of receivers. This game is going to be a *****...

Tyms is useless with brady... Brady can't tbrow it deep

Is that the guy who started a thread "friends cleveland may trade 6th overall for mallett"?

Were only going to have one NFL starting WR playing against the jets

Replace Tyms with a upperclass deep receiver and we have deep TDs in each of the previous games. The better the receiver, the bigger the margin of error for the qb.

Or do you think the deep throws to Desean Jackson yesterday were great throws?

With everyone healthy I am nervous about this game. Just because the Jets can have a big game at times especially against us. With Rex going bye bye, I am also nervous about injuries to our players. I am not a big fan of Amerdola so I don't get excited thinking about him replacing Edelman's production. It's a hell of a time yo throw Gray into the fire. I hope McDaniels has a game plan that makes the necessary adjustments so we leave this game with a win and minimum injuries if any.

C'mon Cinncy have your best game ever.

Go Pats

I think they will cover for Edelman ok, won't be the same production but with wright, vareen, maybe some gray out of the backfield I'm pretty sure they will be ok.

I understand this is Rex's last one but I don't think NE is the same team as week 7 even, I think the defense is better, I just don't see the jets winning this in any way, they are missing too many pieces at this point, they are trying out corners from the free agent market in December no less.

I haven't been upset about the Amendola signing because I think the possession receiver is so important to the offense that without it we'd be screwed.

We're about to find out whether that Edelman insurance check can be cashed.
