Funny: Rex Ryan could join Pats coaching staff if fired before regular season

I know this is just hear say but I think Rex Ryan has a lot to offer any organization, even the Pats. Unfortunately his personality will not fit with most organizations, he will be picked up somewhere though.

he could be a good fit in Chicago for either HC or DC

I'd hire Rex in a moment as a short-term consultant. I think his biggest contribution would be in self-scouting the offense.

I'd do it. Hire him, stick him in a dark room watching film for a few days, and tell him to put together 5 blitz packages to target the opponent's weaknesses. No interaction with the players or media, just X's and O's.
I wanted to put him in charge of BB's media relations.

He'd be a consultant.

Heck - you could ask him how he'd handle player relations too - just do the opposite. This guy is a nightmare in terms of how he's crushed young players' confidence. I could recap but I think we all know about the Super Bowl guarantees, etc.

But sure - I'd have no problem letting him analyze opposing teams weaknesses

I don't think he'd do it though - his ego needs an outlet

I expect he'll take a cushy TV analyst/commentator job for next season

The chances of Rex Ryan coming here next season are slim.

The chances of Rex Ryan coming here to somehow help for the playoffs aren't even worth discussing. What is he going to add in a matter of weeks? His fiery attitude? A plethora of new schemes and talent evaluation?

C'mon...

Footwear coordinator...

I think it'd be a great way to troll the Jest, but aside from that?

Would not be surprised to see him as a $$ consultant for Denver as a temp until post season.
Brought in specifically to suggest you-know-what.
Free to start full time with any team the 1st monday in February.

But really, what could he offer them that they don't know already?

Different perspective on blitz packages

Yeah, I'd love to see he and Cutler interact every day. It'd be like driving a gasoline tanker into a bonfire...

If it's not already part of their scheme I question whether that would be something they haven't already considered/installed or just could pick up from film. Or, they might not have the personnel to do what Wrecks would do/has done. In other words, I doubt he could offer any team help at this juncture of the season beyond maybe a few specifics on tendencies.

I often thought that Ryan might end up working with Belichick, but a D that's averaged 20 points a game and has given up squatdoodle in the second half for the last five weeks doesn't need another Defensive guru. Ain't broke. Don't fix it.

Thanks, but the position of foot doctor is already filled.

Good for you Rex Ryan, is overrated and he isn't even close to a defensive guru. He's a below average coach, that will experience short term success in his next stop, but he'll flame out again.
