Funny: Rex Ryan could join Pats coaching staff if fired before regular season

Rex is a very good DC. Would be very very surprised to see him end up here, but I think the team he DOES end up going to is getting a good defensive mind.

This article is why not everyone should be able to use the internet. Literally nothing about it would make sense.

1. What would he do here? He can't be DC. In any other position he'd be "pushing" Patricia unnecessarily during the best season he's ever coached. Also, his salary would be as immense as he is. You'd have to pay him like a top-tier DC even if he wasn't one for us.

2. We brought McD in because he was on our staff before in the position we ultimately expected him to fill the following season. Also no unnecessary pressure for the then current OC because that dude was leaving.

All of this is in addition to any personality issues that may cause Rexy not to work well with our team chemistry.

There's no substance here. It's pure speculation and nothing more. And it's obviously speculation from someone that doesn't know or understand our team.

There's no reason for Rex to want to come here. This defense is already one of the best in the league, so there's literally nothing that he could do here to leave his mark, and the only way he could enhance his profile for another head coaching job is if he tried to sell some narrative that he'd learned more about being one by working under Belichick.

That won't happen, though. I assume that he'll go be DC on a team with some young talent on D, and he'll coach them up and get them playing at a top-10 level. Then it's just a matter of a couple years before someone talks themselves into giving Rex another shot, since after all even Belichick and Carroll didn't become the guys they are now until their second shots.

You're absolutely crazy if you think Rex would work under Bill. Rex will either be the head coach in Atlanta next season, or he may be working for CBS.

I'd do it. Hire him, stick him in a dark room watching film for a few days
You're assuming he's done that before.

I was thinking that he'd be perfect for Oakland.......

I've been thinking that he's perfect for TV.

I heard Adam Schefter today and he was talking up Harbaugh to Oakland.

So what would stop say Denver from hiring him?

Atlanta would be crazy to make Ryan the HC, but I can definitely see him getting a job at CBS.

Well, Brady could use a language coach.

This is a move to sign Revis.

I'd do it. Hire him, stick him in a dark room watching film for a few days, and tell him to put together 5 blitz packages to target the opponent's weaknesses. No interaction with the players or media, just X's and O's.

That sounds like BB's idea of heaven.

I don't know, maybe we should dip our toes in the water.

No, they would not. Daniel Jeremiah (former scout in NFL), said on his podcast, that multiple people in the league, have told him Rex will be in the running for several head coaching jobs, most notably Atlanta. Will he be wrong? Maybe, but Atlanta wouldn't be "crazy" to name Rex their head coach, especially when you consider their flaws.
