WSJ: Beware Tom Brady celebrating...

How does this translate when Brady scores at home?

Yep. Remember SB 36? When they won, he was pounding on Drew Bledsoe's chest and screaming in his face. ;)

You made me go dig up the video. Thanks for letting me enjoy those last two minutes again. :)

While the camera was showing Brady hugging and pounding on Bledsoe, Madden said "I'll tell you, Tom Brady is one of those guys who will headbutt you to get ready for a game and he looks like he'll headbutt you to finish a game."

So this is nothing new for our Tommy.

Brady IS an idiot for doing that. He's excited so what, it's stupid. I like how all the homers will pile onto anyone who doesn't think everything he does is great.

Yes i was being serious,

I think tom hurt his hand during that celebration and i think his performace for the rest of that game, and through to the KC game showed it.

Brady was absolutely KILLING it prior to that celebration, and then after the offense goes into witness protection for 4 games.

You don't see him punching people in the helmet anymore.
Celebrationgate!!!!!!!!!

The Patriots always answer the bell.... of course Brady's ringing it...

The most hilarious celebration I saw of him was the denver game last yr after gronk scored a TD. Even collinsworth remarked 'People say Gronk is crazy, look at this !'

If anybody does that much headbutting, it should be somebody who plays for the Rams.

:)

Seriously, we're talking a triple-digit number of headbutts, perhaps in a single season if there are several butts per celebration. That seems a bit riskier than I'd like, but it also seems more benign than what athletes routinely go through in a number of sports, football included.

Every time I brought up brady potentially hurting himself, or his teammates I got eviscerated and called a moron.

Who's laughing now!?!?

This is a great article. Pretty funny to read.

Remember when he used to head butt Dan Graham before games? I never liked that, it seems you could injure your neck doing that. I also don't like the jump-bodybump. It's like going up for a rebound in traffic in basketball, there's the risk of landing on the side of someone's foot and turning your ankle - I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on this one. There is no reason to speculate on anything so unusual and unnecessary when the offensive line's issues are a suitable explanation. Even more so if you are trying to pin the next three weeks on the same phantom injury.
Was he on the injury report with a hand injury? Asking because I'm posting from my phone and too lazy to look it up.

That happened to Kevin Durant last night.

Several years ago at a meet and greet, a friend of mine asked a Patriot specifically about Tom and Dan's headbutts. The player said that you really have to whack it a lot harder than they do to do any damage, though I don't think he asked specifically about neck injuries.

Does anyone here really believe that Tom Brady, who goes through all this special crap to keep his body in shape 365 days a year to win football games, would be stupid enough to really risk hurting himself or a teammate during a celebration?

Seriously? And even if we entertain that ridiculous notion for a minute, does anyone really think BB wouldn't intervene if things would go out of hand just once?

Really?

Not knowingly.

What would be great is when he slaps someone they just haul off and slug the side of his helmet with th heal of their hand. Or head but him back very hard. Then he'll see how annoying it is.

What would be great is if someone would haul off and smack you so you would realize how annoying you are.
