Edelman concussion?

eh they have enough guys to play to beat the Jets, Sit JE and let him rest.

Boyce is not on the 53.
Whom do you cut & expose to waivers?
Later do you cut Boyce & expose him to waivers when JE 11 is back?
My opinion is we're weak at WR anyway with Tyms and DA being close to (I know they've made a few big plays) useless as WR. I'd like Boyce on the 53, we could cut Development or Chris White but as no-one has plucked Boyce from our PS, in only his second year, I suspect that I over rate him.

I'd like Boyce on the 53

Boyce was a mess in the preseason even after a full offseason with the team. I'll be shocked if he is promoted and I have no expectation that he'll even make the PS next year. Barring a dramatic improvement in his game, both Amendola and Tyms are significant better.

We have that other WR on the PS too. Understanding that Wright could be used more, we're skating on thin ice; if JE or LaFell goes down in the playoffs. Even with those two we're a good WR short for 3 WR sets. I said I probably over rate Boyce but our depth at WR is more than worrisome.

Yeah, all three sophomore WRs flopping really killed their depth. That said, Vereen is being underutilized due to who strong the top three are and it appears possible that Wright could contribute more if necessary. Hopefully Maneri's signing and Fleming's return can embolden the running game as well.

You can say that about every team though. Sanders goes down for Den..it's over. Gronk goes down or Edelman...it's prob over ect ect

He was there yesterday as well.
OK, he wasn't absent with a concussion today. Not at home or in a dark room by himself. Sorry.

Cut Klein or some other marginal guy.

Umm, Josh Kline played last week for much of the second half - and did really well. He's probably starting this week if Connolly's neck is still smarting, and he'll almost certainly play significant time next week if the Pats win Sunday and the Donkeys lose.

Just because you don't hear someone's name doesn't make him a "marginal guy."

For what it's worth, one of the best things that could happen to the Pats right now (unless it cost them a game) would be for Edelman to get greatly reduced snaps and get Amendola out there. Brady and Amendola had a lot going for them last year, and then, for some reason, it just went away. Getting those two on the same page would be huge for the SB run.

Poor Mike Wright might still be. :(

That was the situation that really brought it home to me how serious concussions can be. Raised on 50s detective shows where they conked the hero over the head each week with no effect other than rubbing the back of their necks I had failed to appreciate how debilitating a series of concussions could be in reality.

Best wishes to Wright in his post football life.

Vereen's a RB with 48 catches, and there are two games remaining, meaning he's on a pace for about 55 catches. He's going to be one of four "receivers" with 50+ catches, and he's currently second on the team in rushing attempts. How is that being underutilized?

This has already been discussed, it's about how he is used, not how much he is used. Feel free to do a search for him over the past week if you want more details.

So you agree that he's not being underutilized, then, as your issue is really misuse.

Kyed is implying that Brady had something to do with this. Very silly, but amusing to read.

Hopefully a too-eager Tom Brady didn’t cause wide receiver Julian Edelman’s concussion.

New England Patriots players explained to The Wall Street Journal that they always have to be prepared for the quarterback’s patented touchdown celebration.

“All of a sudden he’s a foot away from you, head-butting you three times,” wideout Brandon LaFell told Kevin Clark. “I’m like, hey, man, calm down.”

Edelman listed with a concussion?!?!

Off Topic: Did you hear Edelman and Fauria on WEEI talking about this? Fauria asked if Brady was still obsessed with fudge. Edelman said no. The new obsession is ducks.

Why would they? If he's healthy enough to play, there's no reason for him not to play. These games are neither meaningless nor gimmes.

You said the decision is out of the Pats' hands. I am curious about why that would be, and still am.

To answer the question above, they'd consider holding him out because a concussion makes a person more susceptible to more concussions, and the closer a person is to the last one they had, the more susceptible he is to having another one. Each concussion increases the odds of more concussions, and increases the amount of long term damage. Giving him some distance from his last one would help protect him for future games, and reduce the amount of permanent damage he will have from them.

The guy takes more significant blows to the head in the open field than anyone we've had since Welker. I'd hope there is some concern about that.

SOunds like he should be good to go..we will see
