Congrats to Talib... I appreciate what he did here and would have taken the same contract.

However, it is pretty ridiculous that a week before, Darrelle Revis was about 5x more valuable than Talib was on Sunday. I watched both games and was actually at the Chargers game.

Talib didn't even cover Keenan Allen; Chris Harris did. He got the award because he hawked an INT late in the game during desperation time from a San Diego offense that couldn't move the ball while Allen had a broken collarbone.

In fact, in watching both the Patriots and Broncos game this weekend, it is obvious that Revis played far, far better than Talib this week as well. He doesn't get INTs because QBs don't throw in his direction, especially twenty yards downfield.

Kind of dumb that these awards are pretty much given based on "obvious" statistics only. Revis hasn't even won the award once despite being the second most valuable defensive player in the AFC.

Revis is more valuable than Watt, I'm sick of all the Watt hype.

Not to mention the Texans have the lowest Strength-of-Victory (.265) in the NFL

Titans
Titans
jaguars
Raiders
Redskins
Browns
Bills

It's even crazier people want Watt to be LEAGUE MVP. Guy isn't even the most valuable player in the AFC South.

Props to Talib. I haven't kept up, but i assume revis has won it every other week.

You mean Talibs hamstring won it!!

Yeah, that Watt guy's had no shot.

So is Watt not the best defensive player in the league?

It's still the regular season. He doesn't disappear until the playoffs - much like two of his other teammates, ie Manning and Welker.

I think Watt plays a position where the value that he brings is more obvious and easy to be seen by the eye. It's a coin flip between him and Revis if you enjoy the nuances of football.

Winning an award now, standing on the sideline with no helmet and a bruised thigh in late January.

Is this really turning into a Watt vs Revis type debate?

Damn appreciate both players that are once in a generation type guys. What Revis does is impressive because he shuts down the most athletic guys on the team, while Watt is a force even when he's doubled sometimes tripled teamed.

Besides comparing guys that play 2 different positions is kinda dumb. I'd be more annoyed when people proclaim Sherman has the best CB.
