What is the biggest obstacle to SB win #4 for the Pats?

Average offense line.Sometimes they run block well sometimes they pass block well. Against an average at best GB defense they failed when they needed a play the most.Combined with McDaniel's curious playcalling the defense may have to win the game which I think they can.
Seattle is a different animal. But the D can win a 12-10 game for them. At the end of the day if they happen to lose it will be because of the O Line.

Play calling. If we make it and If we play say the packers..don't be afraid to run it 3 times on the first series ect. If it's a bad run D..run it. If they suck vs the pass..throw it. If it's seattle. Do both

I'm thinking if the O line was playing hard, those defenders would find themselves on their back if they were waving their arms around.

The OL hasn't been great the past three weeks, but I wouldn't blame them for this, unless you want to look at it more holistically and say Tom's throws are off because he wasn't comfortable. But the tipped pick against Miami and Clay Matthews' pick are examples of plays where the rusher was blocked so well that they had no choice but to go for the tip. Tom threw another ball off a Miami defender's face mask, the guy didn't even need to get his hands up.

Other than with cut blocks, defenders rarely end up on their backs when pass protecting. It's more about opening passing lanes and keeping the pocket clean. Tom just made some bad throws.

I'm mostly there with you, but Dallas/NE would be the first blowout Super Bowl win for the Patriots.

HFA is great advantage but really doesn't gurantee anything. We lost to the 45-3 jets and the ravens at home.
While you are factually correct, the Pats are playing at a level of intensity that is reminiscent of their Super Bowl days. When Belichick's men are playing at the level he expects, his masterful coaching is going to win.

I am just noticing the one area that coaching can't fix. The O line simply has to get better at coming off the ball and letting Brady do his job. It is unarguable that they will win when that happens. Hard to outscore the Pats when Brady is on his game, and the D's level of play will not let that happen this year.

Remember, we aren't talking about days gone by when the D was suspect. The Pats have a very good D now, and to win the O has to be able to score which means Brady has to be able to do his thing.

Well, both those playoff losses at home, the offense didn't score much. The defense was not good but the offense was expected to do its part . Level of intensity was as good if not better in 2010 when brady was off the charts . Does not mean much once the playoffs start. Not saying we cant keep up , but every playoff team is going to bring intensity.
Pats have as good a chance as anyone and the HFA is great bonus to have , but other teams have players too and all it takes is a couple of plays to change the games. Playoffs are a lot about intensity and your share of luck.
Regarding the oline, yes its still a concern. I watched the miami game again yesterday. The 3rd Q 2nd play after the big gronk gain was a brady 5 yard dump off to gray which was one of the underrated plays he made because the oline just got whipped and the dolphins were draped all over him.

Iam probably in the minority but I think dallas is a good team at least offensively. They have just a bad rap for justifiable reasons over the years that people think they are going to fold. Defense , I dont know . In the end its all about matchups as always.

Dallas is a very good team and has a solid chance of being of being the top seed if they win out. They just don't match up well against NE.

That's why I am still not convinced we haven't seen wrights best days this season. I know bb wouldn't hold anyone back if it meant a bigger shot at losing, but I think wright is still waiting for a true break out game
Wright has a small role that he has done well in. I'm not sure why people think that means he would do well in a larger role.

Well I want to wait for these last two games but since the topic has to be discussed so soon I will tell you I have two fears.

I don't think we will lose at home, think we go 10-0, best team blah but:

1. No pass rush, at all.
2. No run game, at all.

I don't care what Chandler and Gray and Blount and Collins are capable of, they are not consistent enough for me to sit here and say they will beast, I can easily see all 4 become ghosts for a week or two which is more than enough to get eliminated as we know. To win the SB we IMO need Brady to have his best playoff ever, no off nights like he had against teams like BAL and NYG, and the secondary needs to accept that they will be doing a lot of covering with no pressure on the QB, limit those penalties Browner.

A healthy Gronk, and Revis at corner helps a lot, but remember and this is my #3: We still don't have a great WR so Lafell and Edelman are who they are and Brady has to make it work, I am done complaining about not grabbing a VJax/Fitz type, this is who they choose so make it work.

We are 19th in rushing yards and 11th in sacks.
While you are correct that there are games when we don't run well, and games when the pass rush is not great, that is the NFL, and every team in the league fits that description.

you put revis on bryant, and load up to stop murray

dallas is interesting......they have lost 4 at home but are undefeated on the road

for me its all about coaching and matchups they have shown that they have the talent to blowout any team the NFL.

if one RB is not getting it done in the first few att going with the other guy if Gronk cant get open find ways to get the ball to other WR's don't just stay with worked in practice in the week cause one bad half of football leads to a loss in the playoffs

referee inconsistency

First the Jets. They're no longer in the duck hunt. The players like Rex, who will be coaching his last home game, and they have a lot of pride. Rex might not have kissed BB's rings, but he sure would like to take some credit for keeping him from getting another one by blocking the Pats from Home Field advantage and making them have to play in Denver or the like. Also, it was a long time ago, but the Jets came within a blocked FG attempt of possibly beating the Pats at home this year.

Then, the Bills. Assuming they beat the Raiders this week, they will probably be playing for a post season berth if a few things break their way. And, they would love to be able to boast that they disrupted both the NFC and AFC Playoff picture by beating the teams that were 1 and 2 until this week. It's a home game and it doesn't worry me as much as this Sunday's game.

I'll just let everything else sort itself out. It's kind of irrelevant until January.

Health. If they can stay relatively healthy the rest of the way they have a very good shoot a getting it done, if they lose a key player, Brady, Revis, or Gronk then it may be insurmountable. They can replace many of their startes and survive it, just not those 3.

I'd like to find out. Dallas scares me less now that Murray might be done. If he's healthy they'll be tough.

Two things....

Adequate pass protection for Brady....and our defensive pass pressure.

I've told friends that I've had an ongoing premonition that the Pats beat Seattle in the SB ....with Jonas Gray having a Timmy Smith/Redskins type game.

Murray is probably going to play this week. He'll definitely be good to go for the playoffs.
