I'm thinking they will play 5-6 DB's and make us run.
They could play 11 DB's and Josh the Kid will have Brady heaving it up 70%+.

Same guy, and I'm not sure why we would want to listed to the guy about defense who built a defense that is ranked 24th in points allowed, after being 19th, 20th and 20th the last 3 years.Well, wouldn't BB be listening to Rex as a DC and not as a HC who just ruined a franchise?
The Patriots are 8-4 against Rex Ryan's Jets and have scored an average of 27.7 points per game.Considering Rex's D is now very familar with us and has given more problems to our O than any other team (I will never forget how they came home and beat us during the playoffs a few years back - inspite of us having a bye-week and Rex pathetically taunting Brady in the PC), wouldn't BB be interested in knowing what are our O's flaws that Rex sees and exploits?
In the last 4 years his defense is ranked 22nd in points allowed and 29th in takeaways. He's not BB, but he can coach a defense, he's better than half the coaches in the league.
None of us like Rex, but he's not a bad coach. He's being screwed by management and sometimes his false bravado clouds his judgement to be impartial. I love the way he uses his secondary and LBs in pass rush situations. If he wants to be successful, he needs to go somewhere where management and him are on the same page in terms of roster management and coaching philosophy. He needs to seperate himself a bit from the players so he can make decisions that are best for the team.
You can't blame Idzik when the team has been deteriorating all along. His last winning season was FIVE years ago.I agree, Rex is not god's gift to coaching, he doesn't manage his team in all aspects (offense/defense/ST) and one has to question his role in the offense. I do believe that he is better than half the coaches in the league and that Idzik has not built a team that fits Ryan's strategy. 5 years ago he was overrated and now he is underrated (if that makes sense)
You mean, like he's putting his best foot forward in this game? That his players will toe the line for him? That he will not be de-feet-ed? That his "sole" mission is beating New England? Or, he plans to "nail" a victory? Wrecks apparently isn't ****yfooting around this time. Not having read the previous 2 pages. I'm sure there are plenty of toe puns
If not. Whats got into you people.

It was a real shoe-in. I try to be "instep" with the times when it comes to things like this. I mean, I'm no "loafer" and have never been accused of acting like a "heel." I also try to hold my "tongue" when there's nothing else to say, and at least express myself accurately -- in which case I reach for the "oxford" dictionary.Bootiful. Just bootiful

In the last 4 years in addtition to being 22nd in points allowed, and 29th in takeaways, his defenses are 21st in sacks.
As a comparison, in this same timeframe, the Patriots (Whose defense most fans on this board have destroyed as sucking for most of that time) have:
21 more sacks (Patriots are 8th, Jets are 21st)
194 fewer points allowed (NE 8th, NJ 21st)
47 more takeaways (NE 1, NJ 29) Yes that is more than 3/4s more takeaways per game.
Exactly what do you like about schemes that allow a lot of points, dont sack the QB and dont take the ball away?
