Broncos Win Super Bowl!

Really, how is "we are hoisting that trophy" not a guarantee?

If you assume a certain intention then that's what it means.

If you assume another intention "We are determined and focused on winning the SB no matter where we have to play" then it sounds completely different.

We had the same issue with Moss, once, where if you expect that these guys are 100% accurate and articulate in expressing themselves then sometimes what they say sounds stupid at face value.

But if you read the rest of that quote the context shifts for me and just sounds like a guy saying what he should be thinking - that their whole goal and determination is to win the title.

What went down there w Kosar ? I need context. He replaced him and botched the handling ?

Basically what I read was BB said he was starting to suck in a press conference and the fans took offense to that. So he keeps a tight lip on injuries and such.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Kosar

After a 29–14 loss to Denver in Week 8, the Browns released Kosar. Belichick told a press conference Kosar was suffering from "diminishing skills." The coach was not entirely incorrect as Kosar’s performance had diminished in recent years, but many Browns fans saw this rejection as an insult, and some came to the next home game in Kosar masks. In David Halberstam's book "The Education of a Coach", the author outlines how Kosar ignored the Browns' coaches play calling during the Denver game, threw a touchdown to WR Michael Jackson after calling his own pass play and then told the press afterwards he'd drawn the play "up in the dirt". Belichick made the decision to release Kosar afterwards, but said years later he had handled the situation badly, and should have arranged for a more orderly transition to the post-Kosar era.

Thank you. Kraft was correct to look past Cleveland and see BB's potential. In retrospect, the football minds to come out of early 90s Cleveland were a sign BB was something special.

I have said it before : I don't give a crap about their personalities, if they are good people. I want my favourite sports team to win games. All of them if possible. Glad BB keeps his comments to himself and I hope he tells us stories of his actual opinions once he hangs em up for good.

Broncos will be one and done this year and they won't even get to Foxboro. If by some miracle they do, more bulletin board material for us.

I dont really put much into these things, I dont think it matters really what guys say.

He still said they're winning it no matter what. That's basically a textbook guarantee. A goal is saying "we want to do this" which he said the second time around. The first time around he definitely said "we're going to do it." unless the transcript was written incorrectly.

and if I'm a player, that's how I am looking at it.......it's a long tough season.....you have to think unconditionally

of course it doesn't jibe with the one game at a time mentality, but it's still the same goal.....

people are silly for even thinking this is some kind of bulletin board material.

It would be awesome to see the Broncos get eliminated early again this year, by say the Steelers, in a revenge game from that Tebow win a few years back.

First Harris and now Knighton, talking about how they're going to beat us come playoff time. Not one peep from any Pats players about the Broncos.

Looks like we've got some rent-free real estate in all their heads.

John Fox either has no control over his team or doesn't give a s**t.

Can you imagine a Patriots player saying something like this?

I have to say that if they come here and it is a cold and windy day and the Pats shut down the running game, the Pats are going to shut out the Broncos. A stiff wind is going to throw Manning's passes backwards at this point.

I am still shocked no one has tried to force Manning to air out the ball in the last month. I just don't think the Broncos can win a shoot out right now. But yet teams are letting them run because they respect the pass too much. Yet, the Broncos aren't throwing more than 20 times a game.

do the talkin on the field...take the approach of #BeastMode...who I WOULD take on this team in a heartbeat...

..BTW Crosby is a Stanley Cup and Olympic champion and the face of the NHL whether you like it or not...:D

Crosby, the pride of "Soul Harbour".

I dunno if Denver makes it to the AFCCG.

It is a reach to say he was doing anything except talking about his team's desire/confidence to win it all. I hardly think it is the same as guaranteeing a victory. Every Patriots player would say in private that they are going to win the Super Bowl and beat Denver as well.

That said, he does sound mighty ****y considering how his team was humiliated last season after their cakewalk to the Super Bowl against undermanned opponents.

I would also take Knighton on the Pats in a heartbeat.

Talk is cheap though.

does he not know there are still 3 games to go before they would even meet let alone if they win their first game?

Why would players give the pats more motivation? Another dumb ****

Terrance, shouldn't you be on to Cincinnati?

On second thought, never mind that. Any distracted player on the Denver Broncos is just fine with me.

Look Peyton! Papa John left you a message...he wants to do another six figure commercial RIGHT NOW! :D
