Fuel for all those that say Belichick is arrogant and worried about 'proving he is the smartest guy in the room'.

“You just want to put the whole thing on me — bad coaching,” he said Monday morning on a conference call with the media. “It was a poor end of the half. Nothing we did is the way we wanted it to go, and so that’€™s my fault. So it’€™s bad coaching, I’€™ll take responsibility for it and try to see to it that it doesn’€™t happen again. It was a poorly coached sequence of plays, period. And poorly played, I might add, to go along with that.”

He waited all the way until Monday to admit it? Talk about arrogance!

And the nerve of him, saying that his "poorly coached sequence of plays" was"poorly played!" Where does he get off saying the players shared any of the blame? Rex Ryan would never say anything like that!

He is simply on a plane all by himself. I have to listen to those Gruden press conferences if I turn on talk radio down here and the contrast is so enormous it is actually fascinating.

Ss I'd discussed elsewhere the Patriots for the 3rd week in a row failed to RESPECT THE CLOCK.

We've seen week after week where as the clock draws down at halftime, the heretofore brilliant coaching and QB decision making gets tossed into a dumpster fire both conceding last minute scores or leaving viable scoring opportunities barren. Bad defense, bad STs, bad QB throw decisions and yes bad coaching. It is a quandry as to why this keeps happening. While the price for these fiascos has been insignificant, going all stupid as the half wears down will invariably prove fatal in early 2015.

I'm sure that I am in the minority here but I really don't have too big of an issue with how the coaching staff managed the last 40 seconds of the 1st 1/2. We've heard Brady and Bruschi say that BB has a saying, "NBF"- No Bad Football. If folks recall from Indy game, BB also went very conservative by having TB take a knee and not try to move the ball in the last minute of the 1/2 (as TB threw a pick the series before). As we all saw, the Pats O was playing poorly and JMD went with 3 straight runs to force MIA to burn all it's TOs. The killer was the 32 yard return by Landry that gave MIA great field position. If hes stopped for a modest gain, this whole situation (MIA ball at midfield with 16 or so seconds left w/o time outs ) is a non issue and the Pats get the ball to start the 2nd 1/2 w/ a 14-6 lead...

The only issue is that the Pats did not pick up a 1st down or have good punt coverage.

it's easy when you're comfortable in your throne

While such late half brain cramps are annoying, I'd like to see our point differential in the last two minutes of the first half and how it compares to the rest of the league. I think we'd see that, despite a couple of high profile letdowns, we do pretty well overall in such instances.

We USED to excel in those instances.
The last several outings we've gone to hell before the half despite spinning excuses
That will not result in Ws in January

If you manage to get any playoff tickets to the Patriots, feel free to send them my way :D.

This is a good first step.

To really display sincerity, he's gotta sign up patsfans.com, and offer a personal mea culpas to some posters for his terrible drafting and personnel blunders over the last 7 years.
he's too arrogant. that'll never happen

So wait, they punted the ball away with under 1 minute left in the half, with Miami out of time outs and that is somehow bad coaching?

Everyone knows that Belichick is just covering for McDaniels. Everything wrong with this team is McDaniels' fault.

I wonder how many teams fans would boo their team at half time when they went into the locker room up 14-13 on an amazing catch, which I don't think was actually inbounds, but I digress. Most teams fans are pretty happy to be winning.

I hear where ya comin from but point is that we shouldn't have been in that situation. After seein that Phins called their 1st time out should have told BB that they wanted to pin them back with a chance to do,well, exactly what they did, scored a TD. Pats should have been more aggresive to pick up 1st down anyway 1st half was like quick sand for Offense. After that tip ball INT goin in to make it 14 for us, I think it kind of took sail out "O".

The Problem is they didn't even try for a first. That's where the bad coaching and Clock Management comes into play on that series.

40 Seconds left there is no reason Miami should have gotten that ball back. If they tired and failed to execute I could forgive it because at least they made an attempt. Running Vereen to the right 3 straight times is not 'trying'.

You have two options there, go for it or run three running plays. The Pats seemed to be struggling against Miami at that point and I believe BB felt more comfortable ending the quarter and going into half up 8 points. A nice return and a lucky touchdown pass made it end up not working out well, but I don't have any issue with that plan.

The pinkhat crowd saying "booooooo" at halftime was Belichick´s fault too, he is too arrogant for accept it.
