@RapSheet: #Broncos & CB Chris Harris agreed on a 5-year, $42.5M extension with $24M in guarantees, source said (confirming @MikeKlis report). Huge.

@PatriotsSB49: Chris Harris gets 5 years $42.5m? Must have deep-six'd the film of him trying to cover Julian Edelman in that contract negotiation.

Edelman can own him for years to come

one more reason why Brandon browner maybe the best offseason sign the price for starting CB's in the NFL is crazy

I know he's a good corner but that's some serious dough. We got Browner for 5M.

You can take Elway out of the 90's but you can't take the Broncos' 90's accounting out of Elway. :p

On a serious note, this is a good deal for both parties. Harris has been playing well and it gives the Broncos some flexibility to continue paying their All Star lineup.

Broncos fans rave about him. Often claiming he's better than Revis. The only thing I ever remembered of him was getting schooled by Welker. I figured maybe he improved since. But maybe he's just not that good against shifty wide receivers?

Not that PFF is the gospel but Harris has been an elite CB by their grading. Take this with an obvious grain of salt. I personally think their grading for CB is decent for the most part. It has Harris as 5th best in 2012, 8th best last year, and best this year. Again, grain of salt, but he is an excellent CB with or without their ratings.

I think so long as you expect Harris to be decent this is a great deal for the Broncos.

This is a response after Patriots signed an extension to Marcus Cannon
Now sign Amendola and Tavon Wilson´s extensions

Yes, the Broncos signed their starting CB to counter the Patriots signing a swing tackle, depth option.

That's some big dough between Harris and Talib locked into the CB position.

I'd like to see their books one of these days to see how they keep paying these big contracts without. seemingly, any cap issues.

No way they say that. Has to be joking. You can't be THAT stupid.....can you? Or is it all that wacky tobacky now legal out there

Apparently his stats are extremely impressive, but I dunno I've never seen him as a shut down corner and I watch a lot of Doncos games. Not that I don't think he's good just not sure he's a 9mill per season kinda guy.

I hope we hear of an extension of McCourty, Revis, and Ayers soon. Those are the top 3 players I want extended.

Revis and Mccourty first..then worry about Ayers. But don't count on it happening in season

Revis is a business man. He knows he can get some more $$ with a SB win and playing lights out come playoffs

IIRC he was also schooled by Edelman in November on a few occasions. I know he is at the top of PFF ratings, but I wonder how of much of his success is due to having the luxury of not defending the opponent's top option? Or does he? I admit to not watching many Broncos games this year.

Well Talib is now hurt as usual this time of year..so he is getting teams #1 the past few games

I wonder if this means that Talib's only getting that one year "look" that was a possibility.
