Revis Overall Performance and Rating

I will take the Patriots due to their depth and position flexibility, pretty much all of them can play inside or out.

Patriots corners > seattle corners

Seattle safeties > patriots safeties

Back to his HOF level, best CB in the league, bar none.

One note to all the "pay the man" posters, while I agree Revis has been lights out awesome and deserves every penny this season he is over 30. Remember Dillon in 04? Just as awesome and we backed up the drinks truck just to have him fall off a cliff in production. Do I think that will happen to Revis? Nah different position with different demands on the body but it is something to keep in mind. I would love to see the deal he signed with the Bucs. No guaranteed money no signing bonus just best corner in the league money for as long as you continue to play at that level. Mind blowing that a player in this day and age would sign that deal and my respect for Revis (I thought he was a selfish mercenary holding his team hostage to demands) went up tremendously. I wish all players would have the balls to sign that kind of deal but understand it is a violent game and they want protection in case they get hurt. While Revis is worth 16 million I hope he loves it here enough to look at what Brady did and he stays a patriot for 4 years at 14. Based on past behavior unlikely but one can dream.

I said yesterday 2014 Revis may be playing better than NJ Jets Revis.

At times that certainly appears to be the case, And while it is impossible to know he must love the ways Belichick is using him. I thought it was really interestingbto see him on Tate until nthryvwere in the red zone and then switched to man on Johnson when the Lions were in close.

I continue to be in awe at how good he is at mirroring WRs. I mean, I'm watching replays, with guys running comebacks and double moves and he sitting in their pockets the entire time. It's only when he's in zone or the victim of a pick (which happened a bit today) that anyone gets any separation on him. Just the best.

Someone on Twitter (Matt Chatham, maybe?) basically quipped yesterday that there were at least four or five times that Revis ran a receiver's route for them.

pay this man!!
revis is obviously a great player, seems like he's enjoying himself. all of his hard work is finally off since the team he plays for actually wins unlike the garbage bucs/jests.

@jeffphowe: Revis Island: Last 6 games, Cutler, Manning, Luck, Stafford, Rodgers, Rivers were 10 of 37 for 149 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs (30.3 rating).

97-98 rating at this point, and one of the best defensive players in franchise history. He's on par with Tippett/Haynes/young Seymour, etc.

Retire a Patriot, Revis.

That is beyond dominant.

He's playing great for sure, but I don't think it's even possible for a CB to have a better year than he had in 09.

stock is rising every day. THis very well could be his best year ever and will be his bargaining chip. But pay him the 15 Mill a year to make him highest paid...well worth is. Not injury prone ect Do it

Wow, that's way beyond crazy good if so.

I liked when they showed Revis from the end zone cameras. Revis was right on the receivers and put himself in a position where a pass would be picked. Especially when the route was finished but Rivers hadn't thrown, so they tried to get open. Revis was still right on them and sometimes made the move before them. That's the thing that makes a corner great. Knowing what the receiver will do, and not just react to the movements, and put himself so he can always make a play on the ball.

Like Revis said last week..he knows every single route the WR is going to run..all he needs is one hint and he can run it for him. Amazing

Revis is playing in extremely rarified air (>Law), coincidentally in a defense that has been
steadily improving and is currently the strength of the team, culminating in an absolutely dominant performance Sunday. Speedy recovery wishes to Jones, Hightower and Easley. Enjoy.

Well, if we can't get something worked out that would be equitable for the team before the end of the league year, we could always trade him, right?:D
