Question for the board: Green Bay or Seattle?

Ill take GB. Seattle is getting hot at the right time.

I'm torn on this, I don't think there's a real good answer between those two. Both have impactful, Super Bowl winning players on both sides of the ball. Green Bay's offense is a load, and their defense is better than I think people give them credit for.

Meanwhile, Seattle is rounding into form on defense, but I feel like if we gameplan to shut down Lynch their offense is woefully inadequate. They don't have the burst of Harvin anymore, so they rely on Lynch to carry the load. By the time the Super Bowl rolls around, he'll have a lot of tread on those tires. Not to mention Belichick is great at eliminating the thing you do best, so if there isn't an adequate second option, it plays into his hands.

I would feel better going against Seattle I think, but only by the slimmest of margins.

Who would you rather see the Pats face in distant far off future game if it were to ever materialize?
Green Bay or Seattle ??
Me without a doubt Green Bay.
Seattle is scary right now.
Dont care. I am more worried about us getting there. Because only yesterday people in our game thread were declaring the dynasty is over, brady is old , same old defense on 3rd down (on the first conversion) etc etc.

Right now I'd have to say that the Patriots' D is better than their O (relative to the rest of the league), so I would lean towards facing Green Bay (top O, average to above-average D) vs. Seattle (average O, top D).

Tell you what, give us either and I still like our chances.

Well I still have concerns with offensive line. Solder is a turnstyle. Which is Ironic thats who they drafted and paid for. That will age Brady faster than anything. Not a good combination if they ever face Seattle.
I dont think I would call Solder a turnstile. He was awful in the first half yesterday and has had a few other bad games but overall he has been very good in his time as the LT. I am more concerned about generating some pass rush against guys like Wilson or Rodgers, I hope Jones will be able to bring that for us but he still isn't playing so we don't know.

Seattle is far and away the best rushing team in the NFL, averaging over 170 yards/game. But their passing game is another story. Seattle is 29th in passing yards/game, 20th in sacks allowed, 24th in passing TDs, and 15th in completion percentage.

Call me crazy but I don't think they would be able to rush well against us with a rotation of Wilfork/Siliga/Branch/Jones. I am starting to like the Seattle matchup more than GB.. although this is mostly due to Rodgers I guess.

The NFC is wide open. I all comes down to matchups.

I think if Seattle plays the Lions, the Lions win because they matchup real well with them,. I think the Lions front 7 can shut down the Hawks, who don't really have any WR options. GB will mop up the Lions, but the Seahawks are a nightmare matchup for the Packers.

If Philly has a healthy Foles they are worrisome, but they have to make the playoffs first. I trust Chip Kelly more than the coaches there. Cowboys have a ridiculously good o-line, but their defense is suspect. They wouldn't mind a seahawks or Cards matchup.

1. GB
2. Seattle
3. Detroit
4. Philly
5. Cowboys
6. Cards
7. NFC South team

Seattle is destroying people right now. They've won 3 in a row
-Over AZ in their first game with their backup QB
-Over an imploding SF team that lost to the Raiders yesterday
-Over a Mark Sanchez QB'd team. By 10.

They even scored over 20 points once.

The Pats need to stop thinking about the Miami game and start thinking about Seattle.

Its not so much who they've beaten its the way in which they looked doing it.

We all saw what their defense did last season, and right now they are hitting that same form they were terrorizing offenses with last year.

1.) It's bad mojo to start thinking about this but .........

2.) Since we are not on the team and just fans talking I'll play along and say I'd rather face Green Bay. I bet we would have more success in round two by pounding the running the game down their throats.

In any case though, both teams (seattle and GB) would be tough matchups for the Pats given their mobile QBs. With last night's demolition of San Diego we again got a chance ot see how good this D can be against a stationery QB.
with that said, here's to rooting for Arizona (even if it would be a home game for them)

Seattle's offense is sneaky good.

Its tough to stop both Wilson and Lynch. Wilson opens up so much offense. He'll run one way, sell it as a broken play with him taking off and suddenly he'll throw across the middle to an open tight end for 20 yards. They basically gave up pass blocking to run this ridiculous offense where 80% of the time Wilson is just all over the place. He's such a smart QB that it seems to work.

I think we can take both but I'd prefer Seattle. Rodgers high powered offense brings a little more anxiety than the legion of boom.

Dont care. I am more worried about us getting there. Because only yesterday people in our game thread were declaring the dynasty is over, brady is old , same old defense on 3rd down (on the first conversion) etc etc.

No kidding? Ŵho was doing that?

I actually prefer Seattle over Green Bay. One simple motive: Aaron Rodgers. Much like Brady, if he's on fire, i don't think there's a team that can't handle it completely. The trick would be to outscore it.

Seattle is a great team, but i don't think they are at last year's level. Their defense is great (but worse) and the offense is not great (Wilson is 30th on passing yards per game). So i can already envision a scheme to overload the front 7 to stop Lynch.

Anyway, i think that we can handle anyone. Would be a good, hard game against both teams

Its not so much who they've beaten its the way in which they looked doing it.

We all saw what their defense did last season, and right now they are hitting that same form they were terrorizing offenses with last year.

I don't think they are the same without Bryant, Mebane and Clemons.

I'll play along. My reasoning is simple.

I'll take SEA. GB is the better team.

We don't have the wrs to match up against the Seattle secondary

I don't think they are the same without Bryant, Mebane and Clemons.

I watch a lot of Seahawks living up in the NW, probably more than any other team but the Pats. You probably would have been right about this point beginning of the season but they seem to get enough pressure each and every game on the QB with Bennett, Avril and Irvin. Plus some younger players of theirs have stepped up, Jordan Hill has looked terrific, and Dobbs in the San Fran game played excellent.

Yes it is Mark Sanchez, but what they did to that Philly team yesterday was a seriously spectacular defensive performance. In fact, since 2000, only 4 road teams have gone on the road against a likely playoff team and held the opposing offense to under 150 yards. One of those teams was the legendary 2000 Ravens D.

I think we beat either of them with Jones and hightower back. This defense is playing its proverbial a** off and I doubt our offense has another off night like it did vs GB. Despite the off night we win if Gronk comes down with that touchdown.

It's a tough call.
Of the two quarterbacks, though they share many traits, Rodgers is the superior, and gave our defence fits.
Green Bay has, IMHO, better play-makers on offence.
Not sure I want to face that again.

Seattle would be my choice.
