Quest for the #1 seed

conference record. what a joke.

lets goo!!! this is a must win for HFA. a loss would be devastating.

hope we break the trend of the road teams getting destroyed in primetime.

If the Chiefs lose to the Broncos, the Pats can afford to lose at least one more game.
You're right. I would still rather see them win out. I think they can definitely do it assuming relative health.

Quest got a tad easier for now :)

Pats have beaten the other 3 division leaders: 43-17 vs. 6-3-1 Cincinnati, 43-21 vs. 7-3 Denver, and 42-20 vs. 6-4 Indy (o the road). That makes for a combined score 128-58 or an average of 42.7 to 19.3 and a 3-0 record against teams that are 19-10-1 overall and 19-7-1 against the rest of the NFL.

They have beaten top tier teams home and now away..huge

Patriots points per game in six-game win streak: 43, 37, 27, 51, 43, 42.

Your point mosi? Any given Sunday. Rams beat Seattle, played several really good teams tough. St. Louis can win this one a lot easier then most think

Buddy, you were 100% right and I was 100% a dope! Any given sunday. The crow was a little too salty but I will eat it! :)

Were still in good shape...get past SD and we are golden IMO

We just might have the toughest schedule in the league. Chargers are 5-1 at home lol, we need a break.

Toughest overall? Maybe. Toughest remaining? Denver's is absolutely tougher. What about SD that plays both Denver and NE as well as KC?

Beat the jets raiders jags and rams at home..lost to KC at home

Not really tough opponents for them to beat at home besides Seattle

would be cruel if we fail to secure the 1 seed again. winning in denver is highly unlikely.
plus, denver doesn't deserve the 1 seed so **** them.

HUGE win tonight, that gauntlet of a stretch is finally over.

There is no excuse for the Pats to get the #1 seed now, at this point anything less would be a choke. Just need to win 3 December games against the AFC East. 2 at home (Dolphins and Bills) and the road game against the lowly 2-11 Jets.

Broncos finish @ Chargers, @ Bengals and vs Raiders. You'd think their next two games would pose a challenge, but you never know.

It amuses me that so many seem to consider the Bengals Game an easy Win for the Broncos.

Talent-wise the Bengals should provide a extremely tough challenge for the Broncos - even though the Patriots and Denver are consensus #1 and #2 in the AFC they've both found road games tough sledding.

The thing I can't discount is Marv Lewis' almost infallible ability to get his team to shrink when the lights are brightest - that effort vs the Steelers yesterday was oh-so typical of their play in big games - they play scared.

They certainly have the talent on D to shut down that Denver running game - then we'll get a good look at how much the Pizza maker really has faded down the stretch.

I think all we need is for Dalton and the offense to just play solid and no more than that - I think 24 points wins it for them.

I don't think winning in Denver is highly unlikely. I think if you can stop the Broncos' running game and force Manning to throw more for more than 5-10 yards a pass, they are very beatable.

There I said it. The way to beat the Broncos right now is forcing the ball into Manning's hands.

I agree. Its weird isn't it?

I think we'll see the full extent (or not) of Mannings issues when Denver play against an offense that will threaten to put up 28-35 on them. I do marvel that Peyton is still able to put up decent numbers this year despite having a repetoire that consists mainly of screen plays and wounded wobblers - last few weeks I think defences are onto him.

They just need to tackle properly - Anderson bounces off so many tackles for a little dude its unbelieveable.

With 3 games to go:
  • Tied with Denver but have tiebreak.
  • 1 game up on Indy and have tiebreak.
  • 1 1/2 games up on Cincy and have tiebreak.
  • 2 or more games up on everybody else.
  • 3 or more games up on everybody else in the division.

1 win clinches the division. 2 wins gets the #2 seed. 3 wins or 2 + a Denver loss gets HFA. Simple.
