Talk all the trash you want, I care not. I'm from Portsmouth,NH. The last time I attenended a Patriot game was Dec . 27, 1992. Game time temp was 16*. Aluminum bleachers. Section 314. Waked in withouth being searched. I was so bundled up they never even looked at me. No one patted me down. If you were a terrorist and wanted to blow up Foxboro Stadium no-one would have gave a **** unless Dan Marino died. Me and my buddy and his 13-year younger brother witnessed the death of the old regime live.

I think to myself that was true justice. Why do I include Scott Zolak? He was the starting QB that day. That's how bad we sucked. We were 2-13 going into the game. He got knocked out and we went to this guy.

Does anyone remember this guy? If you say yes your full of ****.

I actually worked at that game selling Chunky bars in the endzone. Stupid chunky bars. It was cold and also some freezing rain, it totally sucked. I think the record low for attendance was set at that game. They said something like 1,000 turn style but I swear there must have been only 600. About 95% of the people in the end zone were drunk and they'd buy the chunky bars just to huck them at my head and yell, "Hey *******, got get the f'ing Beer guy." Solid bricks of chocolate fired at your head with a team in the cellar. So much fun. I'm convinced the success of the Patriots all turned when I shook Drew Bledsoe's hand in the 8 items or less register at Roche Brothers in Bridgewater and wished him a successful season. They went to the SuperBowl against GreenBay that year and I'm certain it was because of that, at least I tell myself that.

I'm sorry and I apologize for throwing those Chunky bars at you, Slombinator...but look on the bright side...at least by then I was already out of lug nuts...

Growing up in my strict Catholic household, it was considered a mortal sin to waste food. Joker, you've got some amends to make before Judgment Day, my brother...no problem throwing the lug nuts...

Off the top of my head, Tommy Hodson?
I remember watching Hodson playing at LSU, thanks primarily to a weekly diet of SEC football on the tv living in FL at the time feeding my football cravings, as there was no internet or Sunday Ticket back then. I was excited when the Pats drafted him and had high hopes; wow, was I wrong. Not sure if injuries in college doomed him from the start, or if it was just didn't have the talent.

jeezus...Hugh Millen....your SISTER could throw a ball harder...and we had this guy named Bill Bleier or Bob or somebody came in for a couple of games in 87...even Flutie started a game. I'm getting a headache
Bob Bleier ... wow, that's a blast from the past. Pats released him right before the strike, then re-signed him as a replacement. Went 10/26 for 138 yards and one TD in first game, a loss to the Browns. Next game the Patriots ran the ball 55 times since it was apparent pass protection and routes were going to be tough with a team slapped together that quickly. Patriots beat Buffalo 14-7 despite Bleier actually doing worse (4/13, 0 TD, 1 INT), though he did score what turned out to be the winning points on a sneak from the one.

The next week several players on both teams crossed the picket line, and Flutie started. Bleier's NFL career was over and he returned to Rochester NY to become a partner in a financial/investment company.

Yeah and there was another Carlson at the time playing QB. Cody maybe?

Jeff Carlson. 18/49 with 3 picks in three 1992 games. In his first start he went 7/20 for 60 yards with 0 TD and 2 INT. That's a stat line that makes Geno Smith look like a hall of famer.

In his NFL career Carlson threw 2 TD and 9 INT. Returned to Tampa (was with Bucs 90-91) and has been doing the sports on local TV and radio for last 20 years.

Relieved to learn you actually graduated HS! Is PHS accredited?

Liked Bishop. Had great fun watching him at scrimmage in Smithfield. On TV he'd win pre-season games in the 4th QTR tossing bombs to Sean Morey, a binkie. His make it up on the fly style was anathema to BB.
I said I was in the Class if 1976. I never said anything about graduating. Like your comment about Bishop and BB, my "make it up on the fly" style was an enema to my teachers.

No memory of Carlson but I was right there at the games through the Rod Rust/**** McPherson eras

... sitting on those ice cold aluminum benches (not really smart enough to bring something to sit on back then so the bleachers just sucked the heat right out of your ass)

This team wouldn't be here today without those of us who supported the team in person during the Hugh Millen, Tommy Hodson eras - and yes, Zolak was a breath of fresh air and some hope (and a serviceable backup to Bledsoe)

But those of us who went to games back then will never forget what Belichick and Brady have brought...

How many home playoff games in the history of the Patriots host before Brady and Belichick?

How many 12 win seasons did the Patriots have before Belichick and Brady?

Anyone care to guess?

For those newer fans (and nothing wrong with being a younger fan) the answer might help you better appreciate just how fortunate we all have been

Could have guessed Scott Secules...;)
I worked with a guy who was a childhood friend of Secules. Said the he was a great quarterback - in high school.

Off the top, no 12 win seasons. That I know. Without looking it up, I think we hosted 3 with Bledsoe and maybe 1 in the 60's? Pit fog game and Jax power outage. I remember losing to Pit like 7-6 the year after, but didn't we win one before then? It escapes me, going to look it up now. It's early on a Sat.

Bill Parcels loved him as a player.

Please tell me you boosted your metabolism with Chunky bars! :D
