Austin Collie is sitting in a corner somewhere muttering to himself. 8 too many hits to the headI hope Austin Collie's been keeping in shape...
He might be getting a call sometime next week.
The 2013 second-round draft pick will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury Sunday against the Packers, according to a source. When the transaction is official, the wide receiver's season will be over.
12/04/2014 Paced second-year WR
Aaron Dobson on injured reserve.
And this statement simply defies any logic whatsoever. The "chasing the shiny hood ornament metaphor seems like an excellent one to me.Doug Kyed @DougKyedNESN 32s33 seconds ago
Do you know what's crazy? The Patriots probably need to address WR in free agency or the draft again next year.
Edelman and LaFell are all we have to count on next year. And this statement simply defies any logic whatsoever. The "chasing the shiny hood ornament metaphor seems like an excellent one to me.
He should have been IR'ed after the stress fracture last year, but we were desperate for anything besides the Pygmy Brigade after Gronk got hurt and we wasted a year of Dobson's career as a result. I think he'll come back strong.
Why is everyone calling him a bust? Did he not do enough his rookie year to prove that he's A) willing to put in the time and B) has the physical skills to be at very least a good NFL receiver? God, this place is so miserable sometimes. Its a wonder the team isn't booed every time they take the field.
My only source of frustration is watching the production of Keenan Allen (as I really, really wanted the Patriots to draft him). That said, I don't blame the Patriots for the Dobson pick. He's big, fast and has a highlight reel that compares with the best of them.People get some sort of gratification out of calling players busts. I've seen it declared on rookies and others before we broke training camp.
Also people love to castigate anyone that gets injured in a sport where there's a page of injured players published every week.
I don't for the life of me know why, and it's not all people, but if it sounds like you (in general), then you are one of those people.

I am not going to be down on Dobson because he's been mismanaged from go to woe with his foot. Fingers crossed next season is his coming out party. We'll know if he's a bust around this time next season.
I'm well aware. I've seen navicular stress fractures end promising careers. He broke a bone in his foot. That's a very unpredictable and hard to heal injury, ask Bill Walton.
We'll have competition at WR lie we always do and we start out a lot better with Gronk Wright, Lafell and Edelman than many seasons IMO. Dobson should be healthy and competitive.

You want to go forward with Dobson, Boyce, Tyms and DA after those two ? No thanks, they at least need competition.
On the other hand, Green Bay didn't do too badly drafting an Aaron. Can we never draft a player named Aaron again. As for avoiding positions in draft, let's add CB to WR.
But he hasn't been on the injury report as Limited - Foot - Questionable. He's been officially a healthy scratch.
