TO BE FAIR

Branch rookie season: 43/489/2
Dobson: 34/519/4

Dobson had the best rookie season for a WR in franchise history

His foot surgery holding him out of training camp and extending into the season was a big deal. The hamstring could've easily been due to favouring one foot/leg over the other. I'm confident he'll make the team next year assuming he doesn't get hurt again.

I hope you're correct, but I suspect BB will hedge his bets and bring in some competition.

Well.....at least that clears up the mystery on who gets cut for Siligia.

Undoubtedly; understanding that they all play different WR positions, LaFell and Edelman are the only guarantees for next year. DA, Dobson, Tyms, Boyce, they'll be competing with some new faces. And not all of those I listed will even be in camp with us.

I hope the recovery from this hamstring is measured in weeks and not months. Dobson needs an offseason that isn't just spent rehabbing.

It's the lazy people who look at this particular story quickly and blame the player.

Those who've taken the time to take more than a cursory look know that the Patriots medical staff screwed the pooch bigtime on this kid.

Not as dangerously and severely as the USC medical staff did with Armond Armstead, but incompetently nonetheless.

be a miracle if he ever plays again. I'm an eternal pessimist though.

Finnegan begin again! Time for another draft pick!

This guy has been beyond useless.

We should have Drated K Allen or T Williams who both went in the 3rd *same year* sorry Dobby we never knew ya. Think about it, in this past Draft Dobson would have been a 5th rounder maybe 6th. Dobson will be a distant memory soon another Second Round WR bite the dust for our Patriots. We should try to fleece Greenbay or Pittsburg for their WR Evaluators we ABSOLUTELY suck at it which is embarassing. Dobson only had one good game here, we know that doesn't make a career in the NFL. Lets go my binky Brian Tyms.

Excellent point him missing all the OTA's and most of TC put him waaaayyy behind the 8 ball. BB doesn't have a good record with young players who haven't shown crap coming back from IR. Dobson's Rookie Season is vastly overrated by some on Patsfans.com.

Not giving up on this kid yet, he has talent, however, missed time in pre-season last year (foot IIRC), got injured during the season, missed time again this year, got injured again, the label injury prone is unfair sometimes, but in this case pretty much fits.

Unleash the Boycer and go Flacco.

Loosing Dobson has absolutely no relevance to this Patriots season. Let us hope that he comes back strong to help us next year. There is a next year, right?

makes sense...a useless year. If he has another dud performance again next year...he's done with us.

I will give him 1 more year

Hopefully he can get healthy and figured things out for next year. I can't imagine the team will trust that he does however.

Define "vastly overrated."

The high expectations for *insert person* here ______ was to a extent or degree unrealistic knowing how much time he was going to miss. Hey maybe he'll make the Third Year Jump! *not holding breath*.:)
