The Globe Brass Finally Jumps The Shark

Incredible

and I'm a well known Globe supporter

BTW - I F'ing LOVED Brady's outburst. LOVED IT!!!!

This scribe may want to want to view some footage of ultra-Christian, faithfully born again (and I mean no mockery or ill will by those terms at all) Phillip Rivers spewing unspeakable invectives about 100 times a game.

Please quote the gist I don't want them getting my click

They feel that Brady's frustration on the sideline near the end of the game was less than chivalrous.

First two sentences:

"The New England Patriots are great football players but it would be hard to assert that they are great sports. At least not without what Winston Churchill once called “some risk of terminological inexactitude.”

....and it devolves deeper into delirium from there. It really is incredible stuff.

Between this and Shaughnessy's "high chair" reference to Kraft 4 times per week for the last 6 weeks, the Boston Globe is embarrassingly exposing itself as a High School Catty Girl Clique.

In sports terms, one would say they are losing their poise and professionalism over the hatred right now. I've told folks here for years that this is something that runs very deep over there on Morrissey Boulevard. It is a cultural and economic war between the two businesses.

I don't think Brady's outburst makes him a poor sport. I swear sometimes when I'm angry... however, I am almost always alone... not with 30 million people watching.

Of course, Brady knows the cameras are there. So it's one of two things: he wants to display to his teammates how ripped he is, and doesn't care if others are watching. Or he can't control his emotional reactions.

I'm guessing its a little of both... mainly because I'm sure as a dad he wouldn't want his kids saying that stuff... but then he gets caught up in the moment.

I'm sorry... I see the hour is up. This time next week good for you? ;)

**** me. A driven Quarterback who hates losing understood the implication of what a loss meant and was pissed off. Get my pitchfork. Get it now.

In shocking news:

A small, 3 paragraph editorial in the Boston Globe points out items that the rest of country has been talking about both recently and for years. In response, a man who routinely criticizes the Boston Globe acts as if the world just came to an end, in order to criticize the Boston Globe.

Film at 11!

Deus Irae, right on schedule.

Oh piss off.

Yeah, "the world came to an end". :D

"Jumped the shark"?

Please....

It's not even worth a post, never mind a thread. But you go ahead and rant away. This should be moved to the political forum, though, since that's really all this is, on your end.

In my younger, less restrained days, I liked to smash stuff after a loss, as well as cuss; good thing I was never an athlete, let alone pro level - I'd have been a walking unsportsmanlike conduct :D

Thanks for your second post in it!

You're stumbling around and flailing wildly.

It has nothing to do with politics. Just the Globe's longstanding enmity towards Bob Kraft.

That is so gauche and unsportsmanlike.

That is so gauche and unsportsmanlike.

Also puerile. One of the high points of my internet "career" was being called puerile, though the cause was far more benign. :p

Disreputable and unbecoming.
