Man, days when pats lose, I feel totally depressed and lost .Cant watch of the sports channels . Cant replay the game .Feels like next week cant come fast enough. These pats have spoilt me .

sucks that we have to wait until sunday night....

i was surprise that the offense only managed 3 good drives, the packers had like 7 or 8 drives that got in our redzone.
The 2 3 and outs at the start of the game and the one at the start of the half and after the missed FG , really...frustrating the more and more I think about this...

Miami and buffalo will be tougher than they should be because they are a division rival.

SD will be tough because of the schedule change. Going out there helps with jet lag, but it also screws up the "system"so to speak.

In our favor, SD is coming back from a close win in Baltimore. Hopefully they ride that high and have a Norv flashback. Unfortunately they have the horses outside to give our defense problems. While we held lacy in check, Rodgers beat us with his legs. Luckily, rivers is not that quarterback, and he took since big his today. He got up show after a few. We need to get after Rivers and lay a shoulder when possible. More importantly, we need to protect Brady. He seemed to be walking gingerly on that right leg, and I think that contributed to some of the errant throws late (missing DA when Dobson had the gap after Edes limped off).

In any case, these next few games are as challenging as the last five. We have key players banged up and are seeing familiar opponents. We could easily drop two with poor execution.
Brady was hurt ? Iam sorry, I missed this bit.
SD is a big challenge mainly because of matchups. They have the TE who can give us big problems and a very good WR core.Oline is shaky but they beat a very good baltimore defense on the road and their season right now on the line next week. Tough spot for the pats.
Miami, is going to be tough but thats the game pats willbe looking forward to for payback. The jet game is a wildcard. We should technically win but who knows with these games with the jets.
By the time we get to buffalo, we might have clearer things of how much that game is important.

The only quality win SD has this year is the one today, and that one took a last second questionable PI call to bail them out.

too many games since the KC loss to take us into playoffs and SB, we "needed" another loss to propel another 7 game win streak

i can live w/ this game, just dont lose another one

Their win against Seattle was quality.

Should do fine against them, though. It's a good matchup all around for the Pats.

Tom was working with a trainer with bands between series and was a touch gimpy. Can't remember the exact series, but he made a throw and hopped on his left foot with his right foot of the ground while pushed from behind. He was then mildly favoring his right (plant) foot and generally off target on "usual" passes after stepping aside/up. Something was bothering him late. Go back and watch it. Unfortunately I did not set this game to record (have every other game this year saved, wife's friend's came over today and threw me off my routine).

Loss isn't the end of the world. This was the toughest game left on the schedule.

To me this game comes down to three things:

1. The points around half-time. The touchdown given up by Revis/McCourty was unacceptable. If you hold them to a FG there it's a one-score game and the Pats would have been in good position to start the second half. Instead not only is it a two-score game, but they squander the drive to open the second half. Lot of wasted time/hole digging in all that.

Other than a few plays though, I thought the defense held up it's end. Giving up 26 points to an offense that had been murdering teams at home is acceptable. But that Nelson TD hurt a lot.

2. The Patriots first few drives felt way too tentative, as if they were trying to slow down a game that was simply not going to slow down. Too many dumbass draw plays that didn't work, too much Vereen on the ground. Once the passing game got going a bit, that's when you saw Blount pull off some nice runs. But you needed to be aggressive with both, and that just didn't happen until it was too late.

BTW, I saw so many people *****ing about a lack of Gray: who cares? Blount has better vision and breaks tackles. The problem was how New England set up and utlized the running game, not a lack of Jonas Gray. Jonas Gray is becoming the new Ridley on this forum: an unknown that is being hyped into Curtis Martin or something. Stop.

3. The O-Line got owned in this game. Felt like a throwback to September in some respects. Brady was hurried all day and it showed, he made some ugly throws and locked onto Gronk too much. Cannon stinks. Hopefully the Packers didn't expose something that will be exploited from here on out, but it was disappointing to see how difficult it was for this offense to find any kind of rhythm, while meanwhile Rodgers had leisurely amounts of time to throw the ball. The sacks don't tell the story here. The Packers D won the trenches, and won the game.

That said, the Patriots have never been a pressure-heavy defense so I'm not saying that would have made the difference; BB cares way more about coverages and that can work too; again, giving up just 26 points to this team at home is pretty good. But man, he plays mobile QBs so conservatively... Sometimes you wish he'd challenge them more, especially when it's a guy like Rodgers who just ignores Revis and Browner and picks on the Ryans and Dennards of the world. Ugly.

Bonus point: RIP Dobson. Good job, good effort.

Am I the only one that isn't worried about the Chargers? Gates is very coverable, Chung has been great in that role all year, a guy like Collins, or Browner. Mathews has fumbilits and isn't a Lacy type runner. Rivers is a gamer, but Keenan Allen will be lost on Revis Island.

Chargers secondary outside of Weddle is mediocre. No answer for Gronk, that I can see. Hopefully no more Vereen between the tackles! I would like to see more WR and a couple RB screens mixed into the game plan to slow down the pass rush.

And finally, get back to hitting the Blount and stop this foolish Jonas Gray doghouse BS

I'm ok with this loss. I really thought we'd run more and that would propel us to an easy victory. Our defense being unable to stop them from getting to the red zone and our offense barely running (which lead to more pressure) are all frustrating but yet we still clamped down in the 2nd half and lost by less than a TD.

If there was a game to lose this was the one. On the road after winning 7 games - I'm ok with it. We still control our schedule which, with 4 games left, is all you can hope for. I'm also really excited about the possibility of playing the Packers again. I think on a neutral field we'd have a very different outcome.

Now, let's just win the next 7 games and I'll be happy. :)

I agree to that . But really, there was never a situation where it felt that the secondary had them figured out. Great redzone defense , yes but otherwise , they just made whatever passes they wanted.
I'm not sure you ever figure out an offense headed by the likes of Rodgers with good receivers and OL. That team is talented enough to take whatever you give them and Rodgers is smart enough to not get fooled often.

Disappointing... but to be expected.

Hopefully we see this team again this season.

We saw multiple factors at work in this game. Let's get external forces out of the way first:
  • Poor officiating which, while poor in both directions, slanted the game mostly in favor of GB
  • Luck of the inch/bounce where, for example, Nelson's foot stayed in bounds by about a millimeter, and Gronk couldn't hold onto a ball once he'd already gone to the ground and rolled with it
  • On the road against a team that is playing lights out at home.
  • Facing one of the two best QBs in the game

Even removing that, though, what we saw is that a quality team that game plans properly can still exploit the Patriots' weaknesses.

Interior OL
WRs can't loosen up the field, and there are only 2 of them really worth putting on the field
Chung
Collins against the run
Ryan
Browner in a tightly called game
Injured Ridley limits the running game to either between the tackles (Blount/Gray) or the Vereen/Faulk playbook
Overall LB depth without Mayo
No pass rush
Run defense when Wilfork is schemed out of plays

Offseason problems left unsolved played a big part in today's loss.

Man the last 7 weeks not being able to say 'see i told you so' must have been excruciating for you, Deus.

Nah..... It was blissful not having to deal with trolls like yourself as often as before.

When it comes to simply getting open and catching the ball, Amendola is pretty useless. I have never expected much from Dobson, but the one and done pass his way was sad.

Why did we continuously run behind Connolly? He struggled all game and even on the good runs it was more of Blount trucking people. Strange.

Dennard, who I am a fan of, has not had a good game this year and should not be playing ahead of Butler at this point.

Where was Zach Moore? The Packers picked on Ninko so hard. Ninko might be our worst open field tackler on the team and they put a lot of pressure on him to contain Rodgers and that clearly didn't work.

This game showed how important Jones is to this defense. One of the most important players on the unit.
No it showed the lack of Passrush in general - Jones sure would help, but you could gameplan to get more pressure in general.

Huh?!? You do realize that SD, Miami, and Buffalo are not nearly the teams that the Packers are. And the Pats are at home for three of the last four games.

2 at home, not 3. Jets and SD are road games, Phins and Bills at home.

I think they could have ran the football a lil more try to give the defense a brake they were on the field for 37 min but at the end of the day they just got beat by a great QB.

the good thing is it was a loss to a NFC team and the pats still hold the #1 seed in the AFC
