Chandler Jones questionable for Sunday

I would be remiss if I didn't add a Canadian entry into the "day by day" song entry class.

What if he is already healthy and rested? Why shouldn't he help contribute?

Jodee

Jones is awesome, but I have to say the defense has played better without him by being more creative. They are getting pressure up the middle by blitzing linebackers, and they also have more beef on the defensive line. I hope when he comes back they can use him in a better way than an edge rusher on every down...he was also struggling against the run, which essentially made him Dwight Freeney lite.

Would love to have a win at green bay without him so he would be unknown shall we meet again in the bowl. I say you rest him as ayers and Ninko are holding the fort and our secondary is playing next to lights out.

Best O we'll play all year. We'll need our best D.

And that, children, is what you call "analysis."

Bet he will go but won't play, just so he can practice
He is a young man so he could bounce right back. We never really got a ton of information on the actual injury so it may not be a re injury concern now.

On the topic of pass rushers I would love to see them sign Ayers for next season. I think he is a good fit for this team and Belichick is utilizing him the way the Titans should have but failed too.

In theory I agree but I'm not willing to lose our best pass rusher for 1 game. I'd prefer the Patriots took the long road with Jones and ensure he's back fit and firing for the stretch run and January.

Now, if Jones is capable of playing as a situational pass rusher on 3rd down (limited snaps of course), then sure!

he won't play..just give GB something to think about

I think they keep him out until Miami
Wouldn't bother me to see that. The defense has done remarkably well without him, no need to rush him back into action. I'd hate to see Chandler suffer a setback.

If he's ready (and not before) he should play. After all "football players play football"
I feel the same way. But I don't think he goes from a ghost, to being ready to play some snaps all in a week. I would much rather him practice at least one more week to get some of the rust off and make sure he can handle it. We can afford for him to take it slowly right now

I agree with all who predict that Chandler will travel with the Team for practice in California.
I hope he comes back 100% and unleash him against the Dolphins.
Cant see him playing before that game.

Would be great to have out elite all around pass rushing DE against GB.

@MikeReiss: Another sign of progress for DE Chandler Jones (hip injury): He is making trip with the Patriots to Green Bay/San Diego.
Yes!! Although it doesnt mean he'll play in the game vs. Green Bay.

Fool!
That's gonna be Bequette's role next season!

He is by far our best pass rusher...we get him back and it's game over for QBs if we are getting this much pressure every week

Analysis like that will get you a job on ESPN or the NFL Network :D

Jones isn't likely t come back at full game participation IMHO. Fortunately, considering the way the D has been playing, his return isn't currently a sharp need.
What Jones return can be, though, is an infrequent and highly situational one. On third downs that are obvious passing downs, Jones specific pass rushing skills can be that infrequent injection for improved chances of success.
