Ray Rice wins appeal; free agent can now sign with any NFL team

No idea who picks him up but he owes Adrian Peterson a big bouquet of 'Thank you flowers', maybe even a fruit basket. Before AP was caught pounding on his toddler's scrotum Rice was set to be this year's biggest villain.

Now "all" he's done is pound an adult woman's face which seems tame by comparison thanks to the new low Peterson set.

Colts & Cards were interested at one time and heard Saints could be interested leaving them a void from Sproles goin to Eagles.

Rice will not play this year. Odds are good that he never plays again. He was declining before he beat his girlfriend. I doubt any team will take the PR hit for a declining RB.

I 100% agree Mike.

I think some team will take a flyer after a suitable "cooling off" period. The public has a short memory.

Rice won't play this year. He will be picked up in late February/March of next year when not as many eyes are on the NFL.

The thing is there is video of him punching his then girlfriend. That will be rebroadcasted endlessly the second he signs with a team.

This is a weird theory that comes back to football after going through Israel: bear with me.

Back when the anti-Israeli faction was the PLO not Hammas who may be different the Israeli tactic for jailed PLO leaders was keep them long enough for them to be replaced before being open to trading them for captured soldiers. The idea was Akmed was replaced by Mohammed so when Akmed showed up to retake "his" cell there was trouble within the cell. There would be Akmed guys and Mohammed guys.

Now onto football. Rice is poison. Using the Ravens as an example, there will by "Rice guys" and "Forsett guys."

Now the question. Assuming Goodell knows what he is doing, who is he aiming the poison at? First glance is the Ravens, but didn't they cut him? Is this aimed at the Colts or Broncos who need a RB?

The only team that can rightfully sign a player like Ray Rice is the Bengals. They have a proven track record of signing dicey players and helping them get their lives turned around. I don't put Ray Rice's troubles in the same class as Burfict/Henry/Pacman's though.

The real fun in all this is when the details in this whole "transparent process" come to light. It is implicit in the decision that Goodell was lying about how much he initially knew regarding the elevator incident. Can't wait to see that lie on display in black ink on white paper.

The important part of this is it means the league/Goodell lied. They knew exactly what happened in that elevator.

Goodell had nothing to do with this; the judge/arbitrator essentially ruled that the "new evidence" did not, in fact, constitute any sort of evidence of new wrongdoing for which the NFL could impose harsher discipline.
