Lambeau will be amped up for this one since the Eagles took care of Jerry "Stripper Bus" Jones and Tony "Oh No!" Romo in Dallas, and the Seahawks spanked the 49ers on Thanksgiving.

The Packers have a lot at stake against the Patriots. The Eagles and the Cardinals, with nine wins entering Sunday, have a temporary claim to the first round bye. If the Packers lose, they fall a game behind with four to play. It will be interesting to see how the Packers' defense responds Sunday afternoon. They, like the Lions and Bears, have not seen a high octane offense like this year's Patriots.

Fortunately for the Packers, the remainder of their schedule is the Falcons, Bills, Buccaneers, and the Lions. That week 17 Lions game may be for the Division title and a spot in the playoffs. If they stumble, they could miss the playoffs altogether or be a wild card.

The 49ers are not mathematically eliminated, but close to it with their home loss to the Seahawks, and the Cowboys, right on on schedule, started their end of season swoon to irrelevance.

The NFC playoff race looks something like this:

- Arizona (9-2) with games @Atlanta, KC, @St. Louis, Seattle, @SF. I'm guessing 12-4 is probable.
- Seattle (8-4) with games @Philadelphia, SF, @Arizona, St. Louis. I'm guessing 11-5 and a wildcard, but if they win out they will likely win the NFC West at 12-4. The winner of the NFC West gets a bye.
- Green Bay (8-3) with games vs. New England, Atlanta, @Buffalo, @Tampa Bay and Detroit. I think 12-4 is the best they will do. If they do that, they will probably get a bye. If they lose to both NE and Detroit they could be a wild card. If they somehow win out they will likely be a #1 seed.
- Philadelphia (9-3) with games vs. Seattle, Dallas, @Washington, @NY. I'm guessing 12-4. The Eagles lost to GB and Arizona, so they are probably looking at a #3 seed, especially if they lose to Seattle.
- Detroit (8-4) with games vs. Tampa Bay, Minnesota, @Chicago, @Green Bay. 11-5 seems likely, with a wild card. If they win out they could still win the NFC North, especially if GB loses to the Pats this week.

- Dallas (8-4) with games @Chicago, @Philadelphia, Indianapolis, @Washington. 3 road games in their last 4. I'm guessing 10-6 and looking in from the outside.
- SF (7-5) with games @Oakland, @Seattle, SD, Arizona. 10-6 would be an accomplishment. 9-7 is more likely. Either way, I see them left out.

The pathetic NFC South will get a #4 seed, and likely be irrelevant.

The Packers could end up as the #1, 2, 3 seed or a bye. The game against NE will go a long way towards settling that.

Pats are 0 - 8 vs the spread on grass and Hochuli is the Ref.

Pats lose this one, but beat GB in the Super Bowl.

I don't know, it feels like one of those situations where the Patriots would like to win but the Packers HAVE to win. If I had to choose over the next two weeks, I'd prefer they win the SD game over this one.

I agree. Personally, I love the Packers and the whole Green Bay vibe. Having a hard time ginning up a hate for this game.

I just don't like having the same record as the broncos, sure hope KC takes care of business. But then again we can't have KC match records with NE.

I still like the pats here, maybe the pressure is too much for GB, probably not but when you match up I think the pats are better.

I'm not the least bit worried about SD. I'm more worried about Miami and buffalo.

13-3 will get the Pats the #1 seed. Denver and Cincy are the only 3-loss teams in the AFC, and the Pats have a win over both (plus Cincy has a tie). So there's a little bit of wiggle room.

The NFC West is the most fascinating division where all three quality teams play a round robin in the last four weeks of the season with one of them likely out of the playoffs if that team loses the two games it has against the others. Yet, any one of them would dominate the NFC South.

The 49ers look offensively inept even though they feature players like Frank Gore, Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree.

What is also fascinating is that it is quite possible that two backup QBs will face each other in the NFC Championship game if Arizona and Philadelphia hold on to their current positions.

My guess is that Detroit and Seattle will be the wild cards and will go on the road in the first round against Green Bay and New Orleans, respectively. It's quite possible that Green Bay and Detroit play back-to-back in week 17 and the wild card round.

I don't. Then again I am known to be a hater. I've hated Rodgers ever since he started doing the discount double check thing. Love that Brady is a throwback guy and only does the spike (that Gronk did not invent btw).

I hate every team the Pats play. Heck I would have issues with Mother Teresa if the Pats played her....

I'm almost positive we just became best friends.

A good story in the Milwaukee paper about BB explaining Dom Capers defense.

Green Bay - Most of the time get you nothing out of a Bill Belichick press conference.

The exception is Friday when for some reason he seems to be far more relaxed and expansive than any other time. Maybe it's because the hay is in the barn and he's feeling good about the week of preparation. Maybe he's not as distracted. Or maybe he has tickets to a really good show Friday night.

Whatever the case, if you ask the right question and listen closely enough you can learn a lot from him.

The concepts of the 3-4 and the so-called "fire zone" scheme he runs, remain the same, however. Belichick talked about some of the challenges of facing Capers' defense.

"I’d say that the Pittsburgh system, the Lebeau system and the Capers, the way it challenges you is that they bring everybody. It’s not one, this guy or that guy. You have to block the Sam, the Mike, the Will. You have to block the strong safety. You have to block corners eventually. Sometimes they bring one guy and drop a defensive lineman, so it’s a seven-man coverage.

"But, I’d say most of the time they bring two guys and drop one, so it’s a six-man coverage. So, three under, three deep or occasionally four under, two deep, which is also kind of matched. They do not always drop back and stand there in spots. They take certain guys who can actually play sort of like a man-to-man.

Nobody I've seen suggests that GRONK invented the spike.

It's called the GRONK spike (or GRONKing) because he perfected the spike. ;)

MIA and Buff are at home. Pats are going 8-0 at home this year. SD they will beat. We can have the same record as Broncos...we hold tiebreaker. So it's all good since i see GB squeaking out a W vs us and Broncos winning.

The only Trap you have to look for IMO is the jets game. Call me crazy but they always play us tough no matter how bad they are..but they should be able to shread that D if the line can give Brady time.

This game means more to the Packers then it does to the pats i think and if pats are going to lose..make it to NFC team aka this week

Eh, before two weeks ago, they were 0-3 at Lucas Oil Stadium before throwing the Colts out of the club.

Pats are due for a loss.

Rodgers aint no chump.

She's dirty, keep your head on a swivel or she'll take out your knees....

Well, except when they utterly **** the bed.
