I enjoy participating in Fantasy Football but I don't care to read about it here.

You know what drives me nuts? I go to a sports bar to watch the games and I hear a guy cheering loudly after say Lamar Miller runs for 12 yards. I'm thinking this guy is a Dolphin fan, right. Well, the same guy then cheers just as loud when E. Sanders gets a catch for 8 yards.
It goes on all the time and I enjoy seeing my players attain points in FFL, but good Lord man, have some perspective and what is cheer worthy and what is not. You look like a screaming little girl (a Ted Bishopism) that really has no clue but thinks screaming is the cool thing to do.

It's a Patriots discussion board. Not a Fantasy Football board, not a Red Sox board, not a General Football board. A Patriots board.

That's how boards start to suck. Too much crap getting in the way of the intended subject. Thankfully we can ignore threads to keep it from getting too cluttered. But your feeling of "just move on" is a little selfish, to be honest. Again, I don't care too much as I "Ignored" your thread many days ago.

Days ago?? I only started the thread 24 hours ago o_O. You gotta time machine or something? Now I'm thinking if you did, you at least could of told me who to start! :)

I have nothing against FFL and Rotisserie Baseball, but one has to admit: It is SO Switzerland! :D

(Now, Switzerland is a very nice, clean place with awesome chocolate, But it has a tough time figuring out what to stand up for, so it just makes money playing arbitrage on the world's conflicts).

A LB from Oakland gets cut........a thread pops up here....not Pats related.
A RB from Minnesota gets arrested....a thread pops up here...not Pats related
Some mediot says something outrageous...a thread pops up here...not Pats related
Half the NFL rumors from PFT manage to get headlined here....most not Pats related
The Jets Suck (which they do) ....a thread that feeds the lowest common element...that thread lives here.
....and I don't have a problem with any of them. In fact most of the "outside Gillette" threads are a lot more interesting than "Brady is Great" threads or the weekly exposes of posters' inner demons disguised as "thoughts on the game" :) :) :) :) :)
My point...........just pointing out the selectivity of the indignation regarding non-Pats related threads.
Personally, I would never read a fantasy thread because it would bore me to tears...but...the reality is Fantasy is huge and it is good business to prominently feature Fantasy....and I'm surprised PatsFans.com hasn't been more proactive feeding the fantasy junkies with extra fluff. (Maybe PatsFans does...I just don't read their articles). With all the tools this site has to offer, it would be very easy for the "old school" purists to coexist with the fantasy addicts that might be ready for a new level.
PS.....Jonas Gray effed me last week........I'll get you BB...and his little McDaniels dog tooupload_2014-11-27_8-56-0.jpeg

Actually, Patsfans.com has an entire Fantasy Football Forum:

There's even a Patsfans.com league with 12 teams currently:

Something I cant fathom in this whole discussion is (and Borg touched on this), why if I pre-pend a post with OT, I get a pass on the rules? We have a forum for other NFL discussions, but we discuss in the main forum how badly the jests suck. The QB change at Washington, Talibs hammy, 25 most criticized QBs, etc. According to the posters above, this does not meet the criteria for the main forum.

I realize that we all want some type of moderation and organization, but I wonder if this is more of a certain segment of the posters do not like FF, and there for are speaking up on that particular issue selectively?

No doubt, it's not a science.

We try to keep in mind how much a topic either affects the Patriots or are interesting to the majority of the posters here.

The Jets meet that criteria. So does Aqib Talib and the Broncos. The Redskins thread exists and is commented upon as a juxtaposition to the Patriots franchise model. However, a discussion on whether the Raiders should start McFadden or Martavis Bryant would get moved to the NFL forum.

Fantasy Football? Judging by the very strong posted reactions of many in this thread (the likes of which we do not see in Jets/Broncos/former Pats players threads) one can see the reasoning for having a separate forum.

VA, I'm not expecting that to fully satisfy your question, but it is the best we have been able to do. We are always trying to keep the Patriots Forum up to what the posters look for.

Sigh

I cant even read an anti-FF thread without being mocked for how badly Im doing in FF.

Thanks Smessy

Sorry, bro!

I used to be in an FFL league, and I feel your pain! :D

No, I get it. You guys do a wonderful job, and its hard to make everyone happy. I'm not upset with the thread being relocated but how some posters in the original thread expressed their outrage was very surprising (Not sure why, I should know better by now)

This is a moderated forum, and certain posters took the attitude that an internet discussion board was theirs to police based on their personal feelings on that particular subject. (Even you marked one of my posts as funny in the original thread without moving it at the time.). I would hate to see this board move in a direction where the people that yell the loudest get rewarded for calling people "little internet sh*ts"

We all want "our" posts to be relevant, so we tend to try and get in front as many people as possible. Its human nature.

The main board should be a 50/50 split between threads about someone I never heard of saying something negative about the Pats so they can get their desired clicks and the rest being homers vs. haters threads (me good, you bad)....And each thread should be dominated by the same three people waging internet war against, well...everybody else. There should be very little actual football discussion.

For the record, I was not the Mod who moved the thread, but can understand the reason why it was moved.

Duly noted. :D

So I moved the "offending thread" to the fantasy football forum and people are still not happy.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mod-dom! :D

From what I've seen most posters are fine with the move and those that weren't have received an honest explanation of why it would be done. We're never going to please 100%.
