What if Ben Cherington Were Bill Belichick?

Really? They are completely different sports with unique ways of operating. Horrible premise for an article.

Bill has broken the media. Glorified trolls such as the Tanger, Felger and Mazz rose up and deemed BB and Brady over, and look how that turned out: such a resounding and prolonged *****-slap that media now must apologize if they pick anyone other than the Pats. (Meanwhile guys like Bedard can't find a job in this town.) New England is facing arguable their toughest challenge this year, on the road, with unquestionable divisional conference supremacy at stake, and the only thing the media can come up with is an article about the challenges faced by an exec in a similar position in a different sport because BB is THAT GOOD. And his GF is even hotter than Felger's wife.

The Most Interesting Man in the World is a fictionalized version of BB, only necessary because nobody would believe the truth.

Bedard was actually hired by SI, which is something of a promotion, I think.

When you start comparing to what the Red Sox are currently doing, to what Bill did 13 years ago all credibility is lost..

Crappy article...

Back to what Richard Camembert said, BB has controlled the press, despite their efforts to control him. Once heard a commentary that the press ran sports in this area for a while.. with the likes of McDonough, Gammons et al... but when the proteams started to hire really good coaches; BB, Farrell, Doc and Julien that that power shifted(as it should). But that does not mean that the trolls who rely on facebook likes or twitter followers as a measure of success will not keep on trying..

Farell, nor Julien control the press like BB. Doc did, because he was accessible, but before KG and Allen, he was on the verge of getting run out of town.

Winning the only way to control the media, BB established this.
