hmmm....looks a little like a big toe...or a ball sack...whatever, the Jets suck.

Fixed a typo and a couple of minor punctuation errors Joker.

You really should pay better attention, it would help prevent you from swallowing your foot far enough to kick your own ass. Below is but a sampling of the agitating nonsense your "sad little friend" has posted since joining this message board. Still feeling that "wise old-guy" empathy?

Nov. 13: Twist all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that we won the most important game in the rivary. And we soon will return to prominence, as we watch those sneaky Pats crumble after Brady retires!

Jetsfan25678
Nov. 13: Oh, yes Marcus Mariota will lead the Jets back to relevancy. Mark my words, all you Patriot fans Mariota will destory you guys for the next decade, once the Jets draft him.

Jetsfan25678
Nov. 14: Where will the Pats be after Brady? Do you really think jimmy Garrapolo is the next "guy"? Hahahaha. As I said once Brady retires, Bill will follow him shortly after, and the glory days of your Patriots will cease.

Jetsfan25678
Nov. 15: lol, you guys talk more about the Jets than your own team! Oh how sweet it will be, once the Evil Empire falls once again to the Jets! Just wait in a few years, fans of all the other AFC East teams will mock you guys once again, once your " golden boy" retires!
Tune, I gotta be honest, I don't have a problem with any of those. He's talking some (future) trash, but that's it. No name-calling, he's mostly talking football, and he's ignoring the people who are going after him (at least one of whom I already have on ignore). As far as Jets fans go, he's been one of the better ones.

The Jets still suck, though.

Geno Smith back in as the starting QB.

The suckage continues! Like moving the deck chairs on the Titanic, it won't matter one bit. The Jets suck! They've already proven both Vick and Smith suck and now they get to go into the off season looking for a decent QB like half the rest of the league. They now get to over pay someone like Hoyer or Mallett if they're lucky enough to even have a shot at them. I'm thinking that "Clipboard Jesus" Charley Whitehurst is more their speed.

I mean, if there's no real connection... I don't know. At what point do you just say you're not really a fan?

I agree there is a connection, and my main point is one's loyalty should have limits, otherwise you're just condoning/supporting/re-enforcing suckage. I liked the Grogan/Eason era Pats but was not all in because the owner was sketchy and the venue sucked. I moved from the border wars area (CT) to NH shortly before the Kraft/Parcells era started and once it started I went all in. If, God forbid, the Pats would end up in the hands of an a-hole owner like Jerrah Jones, I'm out. Clearly a Kraft will own the Pats for all eternity so it's not an issue, but as Dez Bryant has recently said, "Don't test my loyalty!". If that makes some think I'm a fair weather fan for 'only' being in since 1993, I really don't care what they think. I chose my partners carefully in life as well as in fandom and I'm slow to discard them, but there is a limit to my loyalty.

If I were a Jets fan I would have dumped the team long before The Woody & Goody Show bamboozled them into paying tens of thousands of dollars for the 'right' to own a shared PSL.

Yep, that's a true sign of Woody's "me first" approach to the fans.

You're very tolerant and that is fine. But that's the same as saying as far as nausea goes it's a relatively mild case.

The trouble with PFVa's little Jet friend is that he's in the wrong thread. He should start a thread: OT: the Future of the AFC East and then he can talk about what it would take to save the Jets from abject humiliation. But that's not going to happen in this thread -- we're here to mock the afflicted.

As for the Pats' own past, I remember it well! At least since 1981.

I realized that the team was terrible when I started rooting for them. That was part of the point (I didn't want my American friends who rooted for the Rams, Cowboys, Raiders, Niners, etc. to think I was jumping on a bandwagon.) What I didn't realize is how terrible the Sullivans were.

But I soon got wise. In fact, I was so wise that I was thrilled by the sale to Victor Kiam ... oh yes, old never-miss Mike!

I see this thread as more of a public service in the interest of monitoring a legitimate public health threat.

If you think it's your duty to point out to a bunch of lemmings that jumping off a cliff isn't, you know ... a great idea, then what can I say? Good luck with that one!

Huh, I thought it was to mock everything Jets. Tomato/Tohmahtoe.

Recent EPA tests at the Jets practice facility/offices have discovered toxic green effluent seeping into groundwater AND entering the ecosystem as airborne particulates. Levels reportedly spike after Wrecks consumes a heavy lunch of Mexican food and goddamn snacks. Then there are various codependent-based psychoses passed down through families of fans from one generation to the next. All of this is cynically encouraged by Woody Johnson in a covert devil's deal with Big Pharma. Our mission here is about saving the children (and future generations) by increasing public awareness.

Now I'm convinced BB made the team play badly against the Jets to help Rex Ryan keep his job for another season of mediocrity.

It's very public-spirited, Tune, but remember that most Jets fans are the kind of specimens that no self-respecting member of the opposite sex would mate with even if they met them blind drunk in a coal cellar on St Patrick's Day. There are, it is true, families of Jets fans, but the inbreeding will have to kick in sooner or later. I'd just leave it to Darwin.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving approaching tomorrow let us not forget again to give thanks once again for the miraculous events of two years ago Thanksgiving, the Buttfumble.

Starting with an 80 yd TD pass & run Brady to Vereen, followed on the subsequent Jests possession by the Sanchise's immortal face plant Buttfumble TD play, forever enshrined in NFL history, culminating on the very next kickoff where the Jets inept KR again fumbles and the ball sails forward over 10 yards in the air to Julian Edelman (Squirrel!!!) who returns it for the 3rd Patriots TD in just seconds of play.

This is the Jets signature franchise watermark.

So true. With the Buttfumble we witnessed a true mysterium. How could something whose essence is failure be so supremely perfect? Yet, however many times we watch it, it never loses its power to uplift us. To the Buttfumble! Once, now and always.

That my friend, whether you like it or not, is the definition of a "bandwagoner ". If I give up on the Jets, I will NEVER root for the Pats, let alone another NFL team. I'll continue to enjoy football, without being a fan of a team. I'm going down with the Jets, I'm not going to follow another team, because of our incompetent owner.. Not happening.

^ If I had followed the Cowboys a few season and jumped, I'd fit the definition of a bandwagoner. I rooted for them since 1966 and watched the craziest owner in the NFL play fantasy football the last seventeen years. There came a point when I realized the team had changed into something different from the one I loved. Also realized the Patriots are more like that team I grew up with...hey I noted that in thread like this > http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...ch-have-a-number-of-things-in-common.1110438/. Not to mention Belichick is probably the greatest of the systems coaches of all time that includes Paul Brown and Tom Landry.

So you accuse me of following the Patriots because they have been on a roll the past 15 years...America loves a winner, but note my reasons above - they do the right things. When they hit a rough patch, I will still pull for them.

What makes me leave a team is not just going 4-12 a few times - it's losing AND it's leaders being stupid. Not telling you who to root for, but asking why root for a team that insists on being stupid?

Nice post.

We have a saying in England that you can change your wife but you can't change your football team. But you make the right argument.

It isn't about losing -- losing is a test of all sorts of things, but it can bring out the best in fans. Just recently, Roma were beaten by five goals at home to Bayern Munich. And the fans stayed afterwards to sing to their team. That must have been great to be a part of.

But there are some things I wouldn't want to be a part of. Teams that are corrupt and whose values you just can't share. Stupid is OK, but mean, angry, racist -- no thank you. I guess that if the Patriots went down the drain like that I wouldn't switch to another team, just follow the sport from a distance -- which is what I do with football/soccer now.

Still, I can respect your choice.

Unfortunately I remember when the Pats of yore, were the very much like the Jets of today..

Meddling ownership, crappy GM's, lousy picks, no discipline, over inflated players and lousy coaching..
i remember them to and in no way were they as dysfunctional and pathetic as the jest have been for so many years. those past patriot teams waxed and waned like every other team. there were good years followed by bad then followed by good. overall the jest have been wallowing in mediocrity for most of they're putrid, fetid existence

The Jets have been to the post season six times in fourteen years. We are like other above average franchises, and our playoff success backs up my statement. You guys make it seems as if we haven't won a playoff game since '94 like that other AFC East team!

That's fine in my book, Cowboy, the more the merrier.

Tune, I'm not bickering with you any more. My BFF the unrepentant JEST fan is who he is, and I'll be damned if I'm going to get into a thing about it. If there's one thing that harshes my hate-buzz more than running into a fairly civil JEST fan, it's having to argue about it with our own fans. If I want to hate on other Pats fans I'll go to the political board.

I will hate more soon but now I am just not in the mood... for now I will leave you with a musical interlude. I am sure it has been here before, but it is thanksgiving eve...
