Hanley Ramirez 5 years 90 million... Is Bogarts gone??

Being reported this morning that Hanley will join this team for 5 years @90 million... and Sandoval is favoring signing here. Two guys about 30 years old. for the L side of the infield.

Are we giving up on the youth movement and home grown talent?? While I like the Ramirez signing he seems to have missed quite a few games the last couple of years..

Another rumor is Bogarts is going to Athletics for pitching...

Is as simple as saying to John Lester we are serious about this team??

This pundit comes up with this lineup, would Ramirez play left field?? A very "latin" flavor...

Yoenis Cespedes has been rumored to be on the block already. If both Sandoval and Ramirez were signed he could be traded, either on his own or packaged up somehow with, I dunno, Will Middelbrooks, likely for some much-needed starting pitching. And that, of course, is assuming the Sox don’t also sign Jon Lester which, heck, I suppose they could too. At any rate, they could enter 2015 with a lineup like this:

1. Mookie Betts RF
2. Dustin Pedroia 2B
3. David Ortiz DH
4. Hanley Ramirez LF
5. Pablo Sandoval 3B
6. Mike Napoli 1B
7. Xander Bogaerts SS
8. Rusney Castillo CF
9. Christian Vazquez C

nice signings i guess. all i care about is lester and pitching. until and if lester comes back i remain unimpressed. pitching pitching pitching.

Doubt they dump Bogearts...and for the life of me, I can't understand why so many want to dump Cespedes. That kind of right-hand power in Fenway? Yes, please.

its 4 yrs/$88M with an option...and he will play LF. They Trade Cespedes because he has one year left before FA and he will get paid $100M+. Might as well get something for him.

next deal will involve pitching pitching pitching. Can you imagine a lineup that has Napoli batting 6th??? yikes

They were too right-handed even before the Hanley Ramirez signing, with which I do not agree.
Panda, yes…Hanley, no.
They absolutely must sign Lester if they're going to throw money away at Ramirez the injury-prone
headcase…and they still need another LH bat.

Napoli has one year left, right? And he's getting long in the tooth. Papi has one year left, right? Victorino has one year left, but will he even be able to play (package him as part of the big deal for Hamels and let him finish out in Philly, maybe?)

I would NOT trade Cespedes. I simply wouldn't unless I was certain I couldn't resign him. Kid's in his prime and is built for Fenway.

Besides, what will they get for him? Only a contender would want a 1-year rental and what contender is going to trade away good SP for that?

I agree that Cespedes alone will not get anything in return.

If Lester can be re-signed, then maybe all of the OFs can stay at least through the beginning of TC.
By then maybe other teams wil have OF needs because of injuries, ineffectiveness etc.

Bogaerts will not be gone. He will be good to great IMHO.

Cespedes I am not sold on. To me he's Tony Armas. Home runs, defense, and nothing else.

Oh, and SIGN LESTER!!!!!!

Always thought Hanley would be back hopefully he stays healthy and mashes.

I hope Bogaerts stays. I'm hearing rumors of the Braves interest from a friend in Atlanta. I'll take the good Upton Brother off their hands.

Devin Marrero will never hit major league pitching, so I would rather see him traded than Bogaerts.
