P.O.S. Dominic Raiola fined $10k for punch, nothing for chop block

Kinda see the insult you're going for .... in reality, he wasn't man enough to do it to Vince. BB rubbed it in by saying as much.
Wasn't trying to insult, just being silly.

Yeah man, he's too much of a coward to attack a 62 year old man. :p

He's angry about no kneel down. Then direct your anger at the person who makes the decision for the Patriots. So yeah, a coward!

Jim Caldwell cannot handle the dirty-Lion players. It was cakewalk for him while @ Colts.

He is over his head.

If Gronk didn't lose a game for that awesome but totally flagrant bum rush, I don't see this turd losing a game.

Even with the NFL brain trust being absurd in its knee jerk media reactive "thought" process, I still find this one hard to believe. There is video showing a clear intent. There are statements showing a clear intent.
Unless there is some sort of obscure CBA item that doesn't allow the knuckleheads at the NFL to punish this, this item not being punished is sad and lauhgable. And the only reason it won't be widely proclaimed a travesty is because another group of knuckleheads, the media decision makers, have narratives they want to push and repeat.

It's more important that a league office designed to ensure fair play within the league hand down punishments for non-football related things.

You've just got to catch up with the times, man.

Seriously. Hope they all wear the right headphones on Sunday or else!

I tell you what, if in fact the NFL outright gives Raiola a free pass then you're absolutely right. I am way behind the times (living in a fool's paradise, Don Quixote, and the many other metaphors that rightly apply:)).

Bottom line: If this is in fact the case with the NFL giving him a pass, a league that has gone so thoughtlessly overboard so many times on 'punishing' players for the "safety" of players, my regard for the NFL "braintrust" will hit a new low (which is pretty bad considering it's already near the bottom of the barrel).

I wasn't aiming that comment towards you in any negative way. It was just shot at the idiocy of the NFL.
  • Socks don't match? - thousands in fines
  • Wrong colored cleats? - thousands in fines
  • Sparked a doobie? - suspensions and fines
  • Non-football criminal behavior already dealt with by the police - additional suspensions and fines
  • Try to ruin a fellow player's career with a blatant, and admittedly purposeful cheap shot, on the field and during a game? - nothing

Don't forget-
Not talking to the media?- $100,000 fine.

Looking back at the game, Raiola wouldnt dare do that to Branch or Wilfork. Branch literally throw him on the ground on one of the running play. Wilfork push him so far back, Raiola hit Stafford on another play.

No worries DI. It's late, I've done some pre Thanksgiving celebrating this evening, it lead me down the path to have some fun with the metaphor thing. Definitely no offense taken.
I strongly suspect you're right. I mean that list above is poignant, sadly so. Yet I'm still holding out hope that the NFL won't be so blatantly, stupidly, hypocritically wrong on this one -- while recognizing my hope is 'skating on ice' that is saran wrap thin.

Like I said in another thread Sunday. He will go unpunished because he used the "Pats are running up the score" excuse. If this happened to any other player on any other team this is a lot bigger deal.

Also this scum should be mad at his team.
-Suh makes a run stop on 3rd down and runs his mouth down 18 points
-Detroit then calls a TO after that play
-Pats say screw it and convert the 4th down
-Next play Pats run the ball, Detroit calls their 3rd TO
-Pats run the ball on 3rd down. 2-min warning
-Attempt the FG. Penalty on the Lions

Hey dumbass, Pats were trying to run the clock down but your clueless coach was calling timeouts down 18 with 4 minutes to go while the Pats were in the Red Zone. Which was pretty much a guarantee they would go up 21 points.

Gronk was fined. This punk should get at least the same.

I guess Raiola could be fined, when you including the punches to the head from the plays before. But Gronk's bum rush looked more egregious to me. Meanwhile Moore wasn't engaged or anything, I'm guessing he was surprised more than anything, and he wasn't injured, though he could have been.

And as for intent, Raiola obviously was trying to show Moore who was boss, but, do you think Gronk was thinking anything other than, "Gronk SMASH!!!" as he was crushing Brown's hopes and dreams? Maybe he was, he didn't like Brown chirping so he decided to shut him up. You think he worried about making sure Brown had a safe landing?

I'm just saying, this is football. These things are part of it and our guys do it too.

If you can't tell the difference between a player intentionally trying to injure an opposing player on 4 straight plays and a player blocking a person to the ground and his momentum taking him into a camera lift, then you are clearly don't understand the issue..

1) It wasn't just 1 play where Raiola attempted to injure Moore. It was 4 straight. The last 4 plays of the game.
2) Raiola came out and admitted that he was trying to injure Moore.
3) There was no intent to injure by Gronkowski.
4) Raiola has been fined in the past for dirty play. He's a repeat offender.

You don't actually believe that do you?
