Matthew Stafford struggled against New England's 4-man rush, completing 11-of-30 passes for 189 yards and an interception against New England's standard pressure. The Patriots entered Sunday ranked 4th in Total QBR allowed with standard pressure (51.0). Tom Brady had no such trouble, completing 33-of-45 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against Detroit's 4-man rush. The Lions defense entered the game with the best Total QBR allowed in the league when using 4 or fewer rushers (39.2). Matthew Stafford was 18-of-46 for 264 yards and an interception Sunday, the lowest completion percentage (39.1%) in a game of his career. Sunday was the 2nd game in a row the Lions defense did not record a sack (0-2). Detroit had at least 1 sack in 9 straight games to open the season (7-2 record). Stafford finished 4-of-10 for 97 yards and an interception targeting Golden Tate and 4-of-10 for 58 yards targeting Calvin Johnson. The 40% completion percentage targeting both receivers is a season low for each.
