From ESPN.com:

Matthew Stafford struggled against New England's 4-man rush, completing 11-of-30 passes for 189 yards and an interception against New England's standard pressure. The Patriots entered Sunday ranked 4th in Total QBR allowed with standard pressure (51.0). Tom Brady had no such trouble, completing 33-of-45 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against Detroit's 4-man rush. The Lions defense entered the game with the best Total QBR allowed in the league when using 4 or fewer rushers (39.2). Matthew Stafford was 18-of-46 for 264 yards and an interception Sunday, the lowest completion percentage (39.1%) in a game of his career. Sunday was the 2nd game in a row the Lions defense did not record a sack (0-2). Detroit had at least 1 sack in 9 straight games to open the season (7-2 record). Stafford finished 4-of-10 for 97 yards and an interception targeting Golden Tate and 4-of-10 for 58 yards targeting Calvin Johnson. The 40% completion percentage targeting both receivers is a season low for each.

At least two completions should've been negated by blatant holding.

Outside of the first drive the officials did more for the Lions' offense than the Lions.

Lions are by no means a power house O. The Patriots did very well against them though but it also needs to be pointed out plays were there to be made that were missed or dropped on several occasions. Missed FGs and dropped TDs

Against a better team they would have given up at 10 more points. Maybe even more

And with competent officiating they likely would have scored 7 more and given up 3-6 less. So what?

Makes me wonder how our offense would do vs our defense.

Considering that our biggest defensive weaknesses are defending TEs and defending depth at WR, I think the offense would match up really well and do some damage to the defense.

They did really well. Especially the D line. They got pressre on Stafford early and knocked him off his rhythem nice and early. And the secondary may have let big passes go, but more times than that did they get physical, cover their better receivers, and force incompletions. And the INT late sealed the deal, and was well executed play for the defense.

I feel really good going into Green Bay and I'm more confident than I was a few weeks ago about the upcoming match against the Packers.

Brandon Marshall + Alshon Jeffries
Demaryius Thomas + Emmanuel Sanders + Julius Thomas
TY Hilton + Reggie Wayne
Calvin Johnson + Golden Tate

It doesn't get much better than that. Patriots DB's have done an excellent job.

DETROIT has been missing field goals, dropping passes and overthrowing receivers all season and yet they have a very good record. This D has played well against some great offensive team, but you still have to give them credit for mostly shutting down Johnson and Tate.

Something that cannot be measured is coaching, there is a vast difference between how the Lions were prepared for this game and how the Patriots were prepared..

Consider the debacle when the Lions had the ball at the end of the second half, they could have gotten off one of two O plays prior to the 2 minute warning.. instead they let the clock run out to the 2 minute warning. Lack of confidence in Stafford?? Or fear of Tom Brady??

If the Pats were in their situation, does anything think that the Pats would manage the clock better?? We are better prepared than this and most teams, on paper the Lions D was a superior team.. however the Pats exploited their weaknesses and ran up 34 points...

The Patriots beat Minnesota on the road 30-7 and everyone said that the game was played when NE sucked. Yesterday, GB beat last place Minnesota on the road 24-21. But GB is still great. Of course, if NE somehow beats GB in GB next week, the Packers will suddenly suck and we'll be told they've sucked all season.

This team is white hot. I don't see anything in Green Bay they haven't already demolished.

If we can control a team's running game from our nickel. The only qb's in the league who can beat us are Manning/Rodgers on a nice Mid-January day. And, I like our chances against their defenses more than their offense against our defense. Unlikely. Not to mention. We will add Silega in a week or two. That allows Easley to spend more time at defensive end for the rest of the year. Hopefully, Chandler Jones comes back and improves the pass rush/defensive front even more.

To be fair, Green Bay has only beaten two winning teams (Miami and Philadelphia) and lost to two winning teams (Seattle and Detroit). I certainly think Green Bay is pretty damn good, though.

I think they're damn good, also. But,if NE beats them, that opinion will be long gone and hard to find.

GB is great. I read absolutely nothing in how each team played against Minnesota.

I hear you, and agree that the Pats always seem to get less credit, but in this case there two points - one major, another minor - that come to my mind:

Major - This is a division game for GB/Vikings, which explains why it was so close. (our Jet's game at home earlier this season is a classic example of how other teams can beat up the lowly Jets and yet we don't post solid Ws with them all the time.)

Minor - Didn't the Adrian Peterson issue blow up for the Vikings during that week when we were scheduled to play them? I am pretty sure we would have beat them solidly even if that wasn't the case, but still think that our margin of victory might have been slimmer.

Their offense is great. I think their defense can be had.

Neither do I. I was just trying to give examples of how their media trolls can, and will, spin things any way they desire to diminish NE and their accomplishments/team quality.

As do I, I'll be surprised it NE doesn't roll up at least 125 on the ground this Sunday. But that is greatness in today's NFL.

Ah... a satirical media commentary. Gotcha. I got it, but misinterpreted that as being your opinion as well.
