and yes, Welker is in the junk category these days).

How much do you think that infuriates douche and squeaky and all the other "Pats are cheap" people?

I see people disagree with my opinion of KC and their seeding and that's ok. Of course, if the Pats take care of business it doesn't matter as the road to the super bowl goes through Foxboro. I'm just saying KC winning makes Denver's path harder and I rather see them eliminated first before anyone else.

just watched the post game locker room video where tony soprano started shouting a movie quote.

what a train wreck.

To be fair, it's a valid question whether Welker would be the shadow of himself he's become if he were still a Patriot. Brady doesn't throw hospital specials the way Manning does.

Welker's hand strength had noticeably decreased, leading to critical drops. He had a small catch radius, and limited ability to generate YAC. His short area quickness was still good (he appears to have lost some of that this year). I'm not sure he would have fallen off as much as he has, but he was clearly on the decline, and the wisdom of investing signfificantly long term was certainly an issue.

The Chiefs have been playing just well enough to win by the skin of their teeth the last few weeks. It came back to bite them in the ass this week against a Faiders team that was fired up being on primetime football at home. I love it.

Not I.
I wish to savor another one & done by Peyton on wildcard weekend.
I think that quick exit will finally penetrate the thick skulls of the pundits that PM is a fantasy football QB.

But what will happen is the apologists will lament the inordinate amount of injuries that Peyton had to contend with and suggest that he probably would have gone undefeated had that not been the case.

Whatever happens, it won't be Peyton's fault. By definition.

Meh you guys are all dumb.

I want another showdown with Peyton - I want to be the ones who send him out of the playoffs like we used to do. Every year is one year closer to the end of what will likely be the rivalry that defines our NFL experiences for the rest of our lives. We'll all end up buying the special VR hologram deluxe digital set in 30 years and we'll think "THEY DON'T MAKE RIVALS LIKE PEYTON ANYMORE" as our heads float inanimate in the life-prolonging ooze created by Robot Obama's scientists of socialism.

Right. Oakland was winless, but they definitely have been making opponents earn it.

They lost to SD by a FG, gave the 'Hawks a scare (scoring 21 points in the second half) and held SD to 13 points the second time they played them. (Not to mention holding a certain AFC East team to 16 points on the road at the opponents' home opener).

Yup, and they were even giving Denver a game in the first half before a ridiculous 51 yard TD that should have been a 1-2 yard gain setting up a 3rd and long. Oakland just fell apart after that.

What's with the stupid snide political potshots? Take them to the other forum, please, and throw all the mud you want to your hearts content THERE. Leave the football for here.

As much as I agree that beating Peyton in the playoffs is the greatest feeling there is, I derive an equal amount of satisfaction adding an extra tick to his most important NFL records: Most playoff losses AND Most one-and-dones. :D

They host NO, play at Atlanta, host Cincy, those are 3 easy wins.

At Cincy and at hosting KC are only possible losses. And they'd be favored.

Lot of really good teams. Miami is playing REALLY well, I've already taken flack for saying Tannehill could be a dark horse MVP candidate. They will beat the Broncos this week, pretty sure.

Pitt nearly lost to Cleveland at home and got blown out in the Dog Pound. They were dominated in Baltimore and NYJ. They needed an 11 point 4th quarter comeback to beat TN, lost to Tampa, struggled against Jax and needed a historic meltdown by Houston to pull that one out.

Sure, they are a good team and Ben had two very impressive passing performances, but you are overselling them tremendously. None of those games are sure things and I doubt they'll be favored by more than a TD in any of their remaining games. They'll probably be an underdog in one or two.

I'd contend you are overrating Miami as well. Other than dominating SD (which was very impressive), their run is a solid win over collapsing Chicago, a 2TD win over Jax, a near win at Detroit, in a game that they were dominated only to get a blocked punt to swing the score in their favor, and then last Thursday's win over Buffalo. If you want to add in the close game against Green Bay you are welcome to do so.

Good team, and definitely playing well by Miami's standards. But "REALLY well" is overstating it a bit. I still think Miami comes back down to Earth this weekend, but I won't be upset either way.

I watched that game and it was VERY interesting. For all their vaunted defensive laurels, they had some serious issues stopping the run. Their O-Line also didn't have as much consistency in protection as one might expect from a team with their standing and hype.

I was rooting for an Oakland win, because it helps New England's chances for having the route to the Superbowl pass through Gillette.

Good for Oakland. Good for New England. :)

Chiefs fans love to talk about Justin Houston, because he's the sack guy. The player that makes that defense run, though, is Poe. Last night, the Raiders were able to largely eliminate Poe from the run defense, and we saw the results.

BTW, for those who like to pretend that there are no such things as trap games, last night was the perfect example of a trap game. Chiefs come off a big, hard fought win against the reigning Super Bowl champs, and are about to face the SB runner up who happens to be their biggest divisional rival.

In between, they lose to a team that had lost 16 straight, and clearly came out flat in the process of doing so.

You forgot the divisional game on a short week part. Makes the jets game easier to take cuz a least the pats got the W

It's amazing how the entire AFC North division is so tightly contested. Every team is in the hunt for the division title--even a wildcard berth.

Given that every top contender in the playoff hunt has 5-6 games remaining with at least some difficult/divisional games remaining on their schedule, as a reasonable guestimate we can pencil in 1 more loss by season's end for each team. This would provide a solid cushion for the Pats to receive the #1 seed--even if we end the season 4-2. (no guarantee, just saying these are reasonable assumptions, which bode well for the Team)

And if a team overtakes us, then we probably still receive the #2 seed (unless Miami).

Nah. They'd just blame his 'weaponz' for letting him down. Also, too: the defense! It's never Peyton's fault.
