The Fleming Effect

Glad to see Fleming contribute this way. Don't want to hype it too much though but still positive.

Right now I see 7 OL worth keeping next year. Solder/Connolly/Stork/Wendell/Vollmer should all be signed.

Fortunately, three of those five are already under contract for next year. ;)

Cannon has less positional flexibility than we hoped but is still a top tier back up at both OT spots so worth keeping. Fleming showing ability to play blocking TE adds to his value but I am not sure of his long term viability as a OG at this point. Will just have to wait and see but worth keeping for now.

I think Devey is gone and Kline though a decent backup to G is not so good he is not someone you don't look to potentially upgrade next year.

Although a front 7 defender is atop my wish list for the 1st RD I would be fine with a Mankins caliber OG as well.

I personally don't think Sea-Bass Vollmer is as good as he was before his injury last year. He has given up alot of pressures thank goodness Brady can move around some. Cameron Fleming is a mountain of a man the kind of RT that can wear down opposing defenders. I really think he on the heels of Vollmer for playing time...I think he would be an excellent Starter, CamFleming does alot of things well.

saw vollmer's name being mentioned in several all pro discussions. he's doing a great job imo...

Very solid pick, unfortunately Halapio didn't pan out otherwise BB would have hit the 3 OL picks, but 2/3 in later rounds is also excellent.

I don't mind at all spending another 2 picks in O-line next may.

The Pats still have a 33 year old starter; and the top 4 reserves include a pair of UDFA PS candidates. I can easily see using a pair of picks for OL candidates, to upgrade the OL.

I wonder if they will use Cannon in this role against the Lions. That is if Fleming can't play

The Lions d-line is the strength of their defense. I don't think the Pats will game plan a lot of power runs.

They have to try and do something. This team runs a lot of play action and they obviously need to run sometimes for it to work. If they're having trouble with Detroit's front 7, shouldn't they try and use an extra or?
