what a td from Gronk...

If health permits, second greatest pick in Patriots history when all said and done?

Potentially, he's already on a short list and he's sky rocketing up that short list with every passing game.

he gives me the idea of an unstoppable tank

GRANDISSIMO GRONK !!!!!
STREPITOSO !

In my opinion, Gronk was protecting his body by jumping into the red zone. He was expecting the db to go low and he countered by jumping.
Only concern was how hard he landed on his back. A dive forward would have been better than trying to leap or do whatever he did. Love the guy like my brother and wishing for a a healthy life after football for him.

We knew ... on draft night ... we just knew.

Totally agree.

Not sure if anyone remembers, but I believe it was a pre-season game in his first year, he was temporarily stopped at the 10 yard line, with 1 or 2 defenders wrapped around his legs, and he literally pulled them another five yards with shear determination. Right then and there I knew he was something special.

Seeing this TD gave me the exact same feeling I had that day way back then - he just wills you to want to be on the field and ride with him. Exactly what Edelman was thinking on that block I presume.

Twas against the Rams and he dragged James Laurinaitis with him.

I don't care if this gets written in every thread, even if for no reason, we're watching the best Tight End to ever play the game.

Ever.

Gonzalez numbers were about playing 17 seasons. Gates isn't even close. Vernon Davis? Child please. Witten? Gronk is 4 touchdowns away from tying him.

Gronk is the. Best. Ever.

He's the best offensive skill player in the NFL right now. Better than Dez, better than Calvin, better than Graham. He scares a defense as much as Randy Moss did in his prime, maybe even more because Moss never got flagged for burying someone into the Camera truck 15 yards out of bounds.

Nobody can a.) block like him, b.) break tackles like him and c.) brings his attitude.

Jimmy Graham proves his point to the NFL by dunking the ball over the goal post for a 15 yard penalty. Wow, intimidation! Emotion! Gronk? Well, ask Sergio Brown how Gronk earned his penalty. Ask him if he'd want to play that blocking game again.

And then after he does his damage he's a big kid on the sideline who everyone that doesn't need to play against him loves the hell out of.

Gronk has the attitude of a 70's Steelers' Linebacker and produces like Randy Moss or Jerry Rice when healthy, while blocking like ...well, you might need combine a few players to reach that.

My delight is that he is the Bobby Orr of Tight Ends - - there's never been anyone like him.

My fear is also that he may be the Bobby Orr of Tight Ends, however.

I've already resigned myself to the fact that Gronk will be the Bobby Orr of TEs. 5-6 years of sheer brilliance and excellence, however because of the way he plays and how much of a target he is by defenses, I just don't see him having a long career (like Gonzalez or Sharpe) and more like Ditka, Dave Casper, Bavaro, Ben Coates, Kellen Winslow, etc. Guys that caught the ball AND were very physical.

The more that they can split him wide w/ free releases, the longer his career will be.

Yeah, particularly when right after the initial block, Edelman whacked him again just for emphasis. It was great.
...and it showed #11 celebrating after the Gronk TD.

That is what I love about this team, players know what they did on a play was as important as the TD and so doesn't everyone else on the team.

This Edleman is a special kid, we are lucky we have him...and of course Gronk..:)

As odd as it sounds, I think Edelman is still somewhat underrated in some quarters. I actually think he is sometimes more highy-regarded outside of NE than here. But, you're right about him.

WOW,,,Gronk on Draft day video is so great , i watched it ten times. And every time it made my hairs on my neck and arms stand up ! Whats the saying ? Goose pumps . WOW just WOW. God bless you Gronk.
Just stay healthy for Arizona.

We may not have him for long...did you all see the Gronk dance after...that tongue doesnt look healthy!!!
