Titans waive LB James Anderson

Casillas is a ST guy and 1/2 a decade younger and seemingly playing ok. Not sure if the move makes sense?

Hell of a lot of waiving going on today.

All of NE's behavior to date suggests they think Casillas is the better player.

I would keep Casillas, but definitely look at moving Chris White out and bringing back James Anderson.

Is Chris White really that much aof a necessity now that they have Casillas? ST's are bursting with talent - - hell, even an ace like Don Jones was a healthy scratch last week. Why not cut White and bring Anderson back (unless the coaching staff really hated him). We are still one injury away at MLB from being very thin, and it would be great to have a full-time depth guy there now that Mayo is out. Ayers is more of an OLB.

Why would they cut him now? Must be pretty bad. Lb sb high priority in next draft.

the titans defense looked bad yesterday. not sure if anderson was playing but their lb's were awful against the run. lol

Based on how Casillas has looked in his brief stint with the team, and how inept Anderson looked in the preseason, the answer to that would be no.

He can be kept on the shadow roster/emergency list if he's still on the street in the case of injury though. Beyond that, he'd be a downgrade signing at this point.

If we didn't want him on the roster before the season, why would we want him now?

What would make them want Anderson now when they cut him in camp and now another team and a bad one at that says he isn't good enough for them either?

When they signed him I thought he was a lock, guess he did not live up to expectations either here or in Tennessee...

He went from starter in Carolina and Chicago, to getting cut in NE and part time player for Tenn(7 games 4 tackles)... the NFL takes a toll on a players body, in this case it is quite noticeable... I had high hopes for him on this team.

STs are a major strength of this team (#3 ranking in Football Outsiders). Not sure we want to tweak them too much.

I would agree that White and Jones do not receive much time w/ the defense.

I noticed this also.. Besides Anderson, you had Blount, Tate, and half a dozen other guys...

BB is not desperate enough to re-sign a guy who when here in pre-season committed the mortal sin of limp arm tackling instead of making solid contact. I originally loved the signing but when I watched his pathetic attempts at tackling I knew then that he would be an easy cut. According to the Tits, he has not changed.

He was signed by Atlanta
