We can stick a fork in the Saints - Cook is out for the year

That really sucks. But I think they'll make the playoffs still

Once they get in, who knows what can happen. They've got the talent

Saints were done before the season started

The Saints' mvp : their division. With everyone trying to lose, they have as much a chance as anyone.

Drew Bress is garbage playing in an open field , I don't even know how he is always in the same conversation of Brady, Manning and Rodgers. He's a one hit wonder.

Brees has as many rings as manning and Rodgers.
Brees manning and Rodgers combined have as many rings as Brady.
3 of the 4 belong in the sake conversation. The one that doesn't is Brady.

I had them as my Super Bowl team for the NFC prior to the season starting because I assumed their defense would only get better in Ryan's second year and with the addition of Byrd. To date, their defense has been close to trash and Brees is having a sort of off year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back strong next season but, this year, if they make the playoffs, it will be because of how sorry their division is. From there, they'll be one and done.

How many more seasons before everyone realizes Rob Ryan is very overrated? I thought this defense would be awesome man was I wrong...

I wouldn't be suprised if they still won their putrid division

The Saints still make the playoffs since the NFC South will probably place a team with a losing record. Even with Cook, the Saints were one and done in the playoffs.

But what a hit it was. It had this Pats fan dancing a jig of joy

I was wondering when someone was going to mention the other Ryan.

Its a toss up which overrated ryan brother that comment is more appropriate for.

They really don't have much talent. They lost a ton of their depth players this past offseason, and Cooks was one of the few weapons performing on offense. Colston looks done, so they might be pretty much one-deep at receiver now. Honestly, I think that you could make a very compelling case that Atlanta and Tampa both have more raw talent than New Orleans does.

It is funny how people view teams differently week to week. A few weeks ago the Saints clobbered the packers and people started talking about them as SB contenders again and now they are back to being trash. Reverse for the Packers, they beat the bell out of the Bears and Mark Sanchez and everybody forgets they lost to the Saints.

That's why there's an old saying in the betting community that you can never judge a team based on how good or bad they played last week.

Your example of the GB/NO game is a perfect one.

I was never down on the Packers, but I've been surprised at how poor the Saints offense has done. They are 7th in the league in scoring, but 44 against GB, 37 against TB and 34 against Atlanta early on has skewed that high. Getting rid of Sproles has really hurt, and Colston's decline on top of that has made them just another offense, even at home.
