The 2014 Edition : Jets continue to suck (what else is new)

I'm going to be the one, who gets the last laugh, buddy.

There is no such thing as getting the "last laugh" in the NFL. Reaching the pinnacle is ever only a temporary thing and Pats fans already know what it feels like to fall hard from that top spot.

What isn't temporary is the Jets being the Joke of the NFL. Nothing has been a more consistent truth year in and year out then the Jets sucking. Sure they get their brief shining moments like that playoff game in 2010. But then things like the Buttfumble happen and order is restored to the NFL universe. It really is hilarious when you think about it, hence this thread.

Answer the question, and do no try to change the topic. Please.

Between the Dolphins, Bills, and Jets, which franchise has been the most sucessful over the laat fifteen years. Don't dance around it , name one of those three teams.

The Dolphins, by a little over the Jets and by a lot over the Bills..

Next question.

In a few years, you will all see that I was correct. We will get our franchise Quarterback next year, and hopefully will win a superbowl within the next five years. It will happen, trust me.

I'll be here to remind you of these last four days, when we eventually raise the Lombardi trophy, we so desperately covet. It WILL happen in your life time, and when it happens you'll never hear the end of it from other Jet fans and I.
LOL. Did you call this five years ago too?

Safe to make a "Five year" prediction that nobody will remember or more importantly care about as the moron making it will have changed names and likely died from meth use.

The only chance the accursed Jests franchise has of winning a SB is to first change ownership, then management GM & coach and then get lucky in the draft. The few decent DL players on the squad today will have moved on and the rebuild will need to be total. Meanwhile the other 31 teams are not exactly standing pat. I'm an optimist and agree that the Jests do have a chance winning a SB in the next 45 year interval. Please do not ban me for stating this.

Five years ago I said we'd get to the AFC Championship game and we did. IF the Jets ever win a SB, what will your reaction be? Unfortunately, I don't expect you to answer the question, instead you'll most likely come up with a response along the lines of "They won't win a SB!" We will win one within the next five year. The wait will have ben worth it.

Nope, we just need to draft Mariota. If not Mariota we have to wait for Hackenberg next year (also known as Andrew Luck 2.0).

  1. The Jets are going to fire their HC
  2. They'll probably also be firing their GM
  3. The next HC will be a lesser defensive coach than Ryan
  4. The Jets good OL players are aging and declining
  5. The Jets LB corps consists of aging and declining players (Harris/Pace), a disappointment (Coples) and a mediocrity (Davis)
  6. The Jets have a terrible secondary because of poor drafting and free agency
  7. The Jets have no QB

Good luck!

And who will this franchise QB throw to? And who will block for this franchise QB?

I suggest going back to playing Madden and seeking your SB win there because that's the only place it will ever occur.

I thought that was Pennington / Clemens / Favre / Sanchez / Geno / To be continued .......

All your QB's are Richard Todd clones ........... the curse of Todd.

I was never a fan of Geno. He is , was, and will always be terrible. He was a product of Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin. But if we draft Mariota, I believe he'll break the trend. But unfortunately we have this knack for winning meaning less games in December. I hope this isn't the case. I won't be angry if we lose every game, with the exception of week 16 vs NEw England.

We can sit Mariota for the whole season. Draft a LT tackle in round 1, to replace D Brick in 2016. If Mariota proves to a franchise QB, you go out of your way to surround him with elite talent. I never said it would easy or quick, which is I said we'll get it done within the next five years, but it is possible.

I would be completely shocked if the Jets ever won a Superbowl while Woody Johnson owns the team.

It's not your fault dude. You were probably peer-pressured into it, or it's a family pattern of abuse. This is not who you are - there is just an expectation of being a JEST fan that you've internalized, indeed, that you've transformed into a core part of yourself.

Just try not giving a **** about the JEST for one day. (Nobody else does, after all.) Then the next. Then the next. Don't fall back on bad habits when they seem to show flashes of competence, or when the next futile high draft pick falls to the JEST. Just take it one day at a time.

The only way I'll stop rooting for this franchise, is if we pass on Mariota or if we draft Winston. If that happens I'll probably be done with the Jets.

Just to confirm. Your recipe for winning the SB in the next five years to deliberately suck for the first two of them? That is quite Jets-like :)

At least there is hope for you then! Winston either gets picked by the jets in the first/second or he drops like a stone. Winston really is a tailor made jet. Million dollar talent and maybe a a two cent head.

Can't you see woody popping a woody while dreaming of the media splash that would be? It really would be priceless.

WHAT?! What the hell kind of a fan are you? You spend all this time and energy bashing the Patriots and declaring your undying love for the New Jersey Green Beans, then say you'd bail over a freaking draft pick?! YOU are a wishy-washy lightweight! Please go away and never come back.

The Jets have dissapointed me time after time and if they draft Winston I'm done with them. I don't want anything to do with that pompus, ignorant, knucklehead that is Jarmacus Winston. He's going to implode, and I'm sure as hell not watching that happen in New York.

"When you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way
From your first cigarette till your last dyin' day
When you're a Jet if the spit hits the fan
You got brothers around, you're a family man!"

Sondheim knew.

The thing that sucks about this season is that the Jets are so bad that most of the Jets fans have just quit on the team. They don't get mad anymore when we make fun of them. They don't have delusions that the Jets will turn it around and make a playoff run. They talk more trash about their team than us.

It is fun watching the Jets implode, but the Jets fans being numb to the suffering just takes some of the fun out of it. It is far more fun for them to have hope in November only to see the rug pulled out from under them in December and watch Jetsinsider implode. That implosion happened in October this year.

Don't get me wrong. I love watching the Jets suffering, but since they went on that 8 game losing streak some of the fun was taken out of it.
