I know we are all smitten with Jonas, but.......

This is the week, folks.

Against Detroit???? That front line????

Go spread - - unleash #17.

It's time.

Now throw all the bricks you have at me!

With Edelman a little banged up dobsons door might be opening. With tyms drop against the colts also, if Dobson can impress enough in these practices, he has a shot.

Dobson sure gets lotsa ink on here for someone who barely plays. Maybe instead, we should start a thread outlining all current and ex Pats who have gotten tonnes of lines written about them while doing very little on the field.

Aaron Dobson is not good. It's not like the Patriots are putting Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown, and Demaryius Thomas out there and Dobson is the odd man out. They only have one real outside receiver. Heck, they have Danny Amendola on the field for the sole purpose of requiring a defender to stay in his area. Dobson isn't even good enough to occasionally occupy space the football field.

To be clear, Dobson is not very good at this point. However, I would still rather have him active rather than Tyms.

Yea that was a bad drop by Tymes....

We aren't likely to rush for 200+ yards against the Lions, so I do think we will use a lot more empty backfield sets.

But barring injury, those empty backfield sets will likely not involve Dobson unless he shows the coaching staff some very good reasons to do so. Which seems to me very unlikely.

He has his best chance yet. Banged up Jules, tyms making a really bad drop, the potential for a huge passing game plan, Dobson has a relatively high chance of playing.

I think it will be just the opposite, I expect them to use Vereen and Develin as receivers out in the flats to make the Detroit DL go sideline to sideline chasing after plays to slow them going upfield and wear them down.. I think this is a terrible game for guys like Tyms and Dobson as I don't see them going deep down the sidelines unless the Lions leave it wide open.

If Edelmen is down then it is time for Amendola to step up and put up a big game or more. His deal is going to have to be redone after the season and this is his chance to show he deserves to stick around, albeit at a much lower number.

Thanks for changing the title of this thread. I had totally forgotten who #17 was.

Maybe we're saving him for the playoffs and thus giving him extra time to heal? He could be our secret weapon :D

I thought it was good to see him on the sidelines looking happy and congratulating his teammates. I would like to see him get out there and have a chance at some point.

It is obvious he will be getting cut any day.

Now the question is where is Tyms? I believe they gave him a snap or two Sunday.

For what it's worth Edelman needed several years before he was ready to contribute like he is now. We gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was a QB in college and because he contributed on STs.

Dobson still has time to figure it out. He will have at least into camp next year. Hopefully he can contribute this year. I like most am losing hope but I got to remind my self injuries considered he doesn't even have a years worth of reps (even practice reps).
