"Why, Lord? Why do You give me this gift, and then take it away?!?!?" :D

1st thing I thought of...Now vs DET he'll have 10 carries for 12 yards and butt-fumble.

He will probably not get many touches in this game.

NE is a "game plan" team. Detroit? This is the week to go 4-wide and see more Tim Wright.

And yes, Aaron Dobson, grab a helmet.

Just a reminder: the curse, strictly speaking, isn't on appearing on the cover.

It's on posing for the cover.

I'm not convinced that Gray has < 10 touches. Need balance & play action to delay the pass rush just a little.

Doesn't Michael Jordan hold the record for most SI covers, with most of them appearing while he was in the midst of making a successful title run?

I don't believe in jinxes

Except that it is bad luck for me to watch a Patriots game from the TV that is in my bedroom. It just is-- they lose!

It must feel pretty nifty to go from barely on the team to having the game he had on Sunday and then getting on the SI cover. I'd smile so long and hard that I would break my face if it happened to me.

I thought he was cursed because of the 201 yards

"The relentless anonymous brilliance of the New England Patriots" is a great line.

Holy crap! Lol I do the same thing! I force myself to leave the confines of my nice warm bedroom/computer room and sit on the couch in the most uncomfortable manner, because every time I watch in my bedroom we lose or start to lose. Remember the KC game? Yeah... I was watching from my bedroom. Sorry about that guys, I won't do it again.

Yeah, but the FO is too cheap to go out and surround Brady with talent!!!!!!!!!

The window is closing!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's only weird if it doesn't work.

I thought the curse was for rookies posing for the cover. If he posed with hand cuffs for 199 (yards) of Gray that would count.

I don't expect Gray to get more than 15 carries against Detroit. They are #1 against the run. I expect Brady to be throwing a lot. Oline needs to do a good job of giving Brady time this week. Also expect a lot of screen passes, the old Charlie Weiss screen passes vs a good rush type.

I hope we keep running the ball even if its 2 yards and a cloud of dust. Keeps the defense honest and gives play action a shot.

I think Gray will get plenty of playing time against Detroit, he and Develin will be lined up in the backfield to keep the Lions honest by either blocking, running, being a play action decoy or slipping out to catch a pass.

Btw found this great story about how he grew up with a bunch of NBA players, sounds like he was blessed with some good role models. Makes me think he is likely to be a consistent success, not just a flash in the pan, or an overnight success who lets it go to his head as Blount apparently did.http://blog.masslive.com/patriots/2014/11/new_england_patriots_rb_jonas.html

After only one game? Why can't they just let the kid play.

With Gray, I don't see him being a one-hit-wonder, ala Blount's one awesome game last year. He obviously has alot of raw talent. Speed, moves, the ability to gain alot of yardage after initial contact with the line. He was plowing right through guys to gain yards. Keep giving him reps and hopefully he continues to improve. Alot of potential here.
