A little torn: would like to see both with 4 losses, so that would mean Broncos. Then again, Miami has the HTH, so if the Pats hit a rough patch against Lions/Packers/Chargers it would be nice to have breathing room in the division...

Screw it, I can't root for either. Really can't lose with this matchup.

You should be rooting for the dolphins it's not even a question.

We can lose 2 games and still control our destiny when it comes to winning the division since we still get to play Miami. We don't have any such direct influence over the Broncos and if we lose two games and they don't then the road to the SB goes to Denver.

Phins no doubt, another Broncos loss and #1 seed is in the bag. The division is the last thing I'm concerned about, as long as Brady is breathing it will always be ours.

We can beat either team, so I am not afraid of that. I'm only going with Denver here because Miami's fanbase has become worse than the Jets as of late. Apparently they now consider themselves among the top teams in the AFC and they are certain they will defeat us in Foxboro in December.

I want them to lose to all the top teams in the conference so that their fans can know their role and shut their mouths.

Seconded on this. Anything that keeps the seeding in our control is a good thing.

Yep

Not worried about winning the division.

I want to see any team that could challenge the Pats for HFA to lose

I'll be rooting for the Dolphins. Every game the Broncos lose puts them that much closer to playing an extra game, and playing on the road, in the playoffs. The Patriots have a 2 game lead over the Dolphins, and they play them at home later in the season, so the Patriots should be able to hold off Miami, even if they struggle over the next couple of weeks.

Nothing would be funnier than seeing Manning having to go on the road Wild Card weekend. After all the the talk about how the league was the Broncos and then everyone else and how the Broncos were "all-in" and just built a team to make a run for the Super Bowl better than the Pats, nothing would be sweeter than the Broncos being a Wild Card team and go into a cold weather city and be one and done.

For the Dolphins to win the division, the Pats would have to lose two games and the Dolphins win out for the rest of the season. I don't see the Dolphins go 6-0 the rest of the way especially if the Pats go 4-2.

I don't see the Pats losing the division barring injuries to Brady, Gronk, and/or Revis. And I don't think the Dolphins are any scarier of a Wild Card team than the second place team in the AFC North. So I am not as worried about the Dolphins winning or losing any game other than against the Pats. But I would love to see a Broncos' implosion.

If the Broncos lose next weekend, they could go on a three game losing streak (playing in KC in late November is going to be tough no matter what weapons Manning has) and lose four of five. They would go from being the best team in the league to playing for their playoff lives in a matter of a month or so. That is almost as sweet as watching the Pats' current run.

The Patriots can actually lose the next three games - with Miami winning every game sans in Foxboro - and as long as they win out against the final AFCE teams they take the division via tiebreaker.

It is a long shot to say the least.

For me, this is a classic win-either-way game. And if they beat the snot out of each other along the way, even better.

This!
Beat me to it.
We control our fate regarding the Phins. We have zero control over the Donks standing.
Root for the Fish, then freeze them out in December.
Let Aladdin finish the game.

Might as well put this here, since it probably wouldn't get a lot of traffic as its own thread:

After 10 weeks of NFL football, of the 8 division leaders, only the Patriots (2 games) and Cardinals (3 games) have more than a one game lead. This is a year of parity, no great teams, and bizarre game outcomes.

Miami already has 4 losses and has to come to Foxboro.
If they threaten us for the division title, something has gone drastically wrong here.
I care more about homefield on a SB run that whether stumbling home at 3-3 will be good enough to win the division and be a 3 seed.

I expect the Broncos will win this game, but this Denver team has really shown that they are not very good on the road and overrated in general. The Dolphins didnt pull away from the Bills until late and I think we can agree that the Broncos are better than the Bills

I don't think that's a relevant way to analyze. After all we barely beat the Jets and every team we played since is better than the Jets and we basically blew all of them out.

Personally, I look at it like this. Denvers defense is severely overrated. Denvers offense is suspect if you don't give Manning the best weapons in the league.
Yesterday Sanders was out for less than half the game and Thomas for most but not all. Not only did they only put up 7 points, but they were never in the red zone all game. Without having a wide open receiver on 80% of his plays to lollypop the ball to, Manning suddenly looked like big game Manning, and we know that isn't pretty.

If those 2 guys are out, Miami's D will play them tough, and when Manning hesitates, he is lost, and thats a pretty good pass rush to fluster him.
I give Miami a very good shot if Sanders and Thomas are out.

Hmmmm....gonna go with the asteroid strike option....

Thats a very good point I did not remember that Sanders and Thomas may not play. Add in the fact that Hillman wont play and Ball might not and that Denver team could really struggle. Could be an interesting game to watch if Denver's D continues to play poorly

I don't know all the play-off scenarios, but currently there are 5 teams with the same 6-4 record vying for the "final" play-off spot.. The 5 teams are the Phins, Chargers, Steelers, Browns, and Ravens.. I honestly root for any scenario that will cause the Steelers or Ravens to implode :)

Somewhat torn on this one, but as AndyJohnson says above, if we can't beat Miami in Foxboro and hold onto a two game division lead, something has gone awry.
