Pretty sure his 4 TD's is a Patriots record.
I kept hearing that. Does anybody know what the Pats single game rushing yards record is?

Nobody is buying into the Pats defense so far. Nobody. That's why the Colts were favored and the spreads were all in the 30's. 34-31, 35-30, 38-35. I read all of them all day. The defense just doesn't appeal to the fan's eye, but the results CANNOT BE ARGUED. No matter how much you fear the lack of a sack or passes completed, you HAVE to look at the game as a function of total team effort and game plan efficiency. You just saw the Pats win a game nobody gave them a chance in for the most part, and they did it by making plays offensively and CONTROLLING the Colts offense defensively.

What good is five sacks on Luck when he's tearing apart your zone? All week, all the nail biters were cowering in fear of what Hilton was going to do to the Pats with the big plays. NOW, no one seems to want to remember those trembling fear filled posts. So, no sacks but TY Hilton 3 catches for 24 yards...you want sacks instead????

WTF is this anyway?

This defense has been playing well. We just held two of the top offenses in the NFL to 20 points. A couple less miscues and the scores would have been lower than that. If our offense can stay on the field like it has been, it makes things even easier for our defense. I really like how this team is staying balanced.

We have Stafford coming up, so we'll be tested again. Followed by Green Bay and their top ranked offense. If we keep this production up for those two games, then this is the best team we've had in a while.

Colts, 19 yards running on 17 attempts.

Luck was leading carrier with 15.

Gronk: He was just yappin' at me the whole time," Gronkowski told NBCSN. "So I took him and threw him out of the club." HAHAH

Also can someone please explain to me what a Saftey is, because if that kickoff touched in the field of play, bobbled, and then kicked into the endzone before being downed ISNT a safety then I really have no idea what counts as a saftey anymore

It came down to never actually having possession before it went into the end zone

GRONK is finally back. You could see that from his blocking in the first half. The wham block was awesome. When Gronk isn't 100%, we miss his block more than his receptions.

The OL was AWESOME! And yes, there were lots of other blockers, including TE's and WR's.

I still don't know why Tyms is getting any reps.

Over Dobson, no less. I thought that Edelman was banged up pretty bad and thought that might open the door for Dobson to re-emerge, but Edelman returned and played well. I really don't think Tyms is really that good.

Play call on 3rd and 1 from the 17 in the first half with a minute and half left was...well...smashed television worthy. I really hope the staff has an intervention and makes the Jr. Genius realize that he doesn't have to be the slickest person on the field every damn game.

That one was all on Brady. He saw a matchup on Gronk he liked and audibled to long TD pass down the sideline. The read was fine. Gronk was past the defense, wide open down the sideline, but Brady got hit and couldn't get the ball out to him.

I thought Brady was pressing tonight and I have no idea why.

LaFell made some insane catches I'm not used to seeing Patriot players outside of Gronk make; was good to see and I almost forgot that in the midst of everything else that went so well.

I think Tyms gets a few snaps because he's been used as a deep threat before so it helps put some pressure on the defense to adjust to that even if it is just a decoy to help open up the underneath stuff.

He should have caught that first pass though, it hit him in the chest...

Respect, but no, they weren't. It was by design. They were playing to contain Luck and picking spots to apply pressure. They didn't want Luck beating them with his legs.
Agree, that's Bill's MO with running QBs, playing your lane and keeping contain over the sacks.

Photo of Gronk taunting Sergio Brown as he lay against the camera cart. Now I see why he got one flag for unnecessary roughness (the hit out of bounds) and a second flag for taunting:

I was wrong. I don't think Brady actually got hit, but he was reacting to pressure. He just heaved the ball up in the air while falling back. Even worse, really.

A good throw was a TD, but given the game situation, a 1 yard running play and a first down would have been sweet.

Here's a link to the video of the play. Gronk is wide open down the sideline, but Brady has pressure right up the middle and just heaves it up.

I know there were some comments in the game thread about how poorly coached game this was by the pats and jmcd in the first half but really , this game was lot about coaching. they changed what they did few weeks back and employed fleming to get gray established and beat the colts very differently than how the steelers or the eagles or the broncos beat them. This was a coaching masterpiece . Yes brady made a couple of bad throws but really, BB outcoached pagano on this one.
