First, I expect the Jets to screw this up and win two or three more games and be out of the Mariota sweepstakes. They will end up with yet another top 10 bust especially if Idzik is making the selection.

Second, if Mariota was drafted by the Jets, they would find a way to ruin him and make his the franchise QB of the future for two to three years until they had to go back and draft their next franchise QB of the future.

Get ready for suckage to come I don't think Idzik will be fired and no decent head coach prospect is going to want to come to the Jets because they don't want a bean counter doing the scouting and selecting of personnel.

If Johnson somehow has a rare moment of intelligent thought and fires Idzik. I am not sure good head coach or GM wants to work for a moron owner who's only business achievement in his life was being born as the grandson of a genius businessman.

You make no sense (but I'm sure you're used to hearing that). Yes, we have a substantial thread addressing Jets suckage that is a never-ending source of high hilarity. But that's just one of thousands of threads here on Patsfans. YOUR posts have more to do with fantasizing about a fictional future Patriots demise than anything positive about the New Jersey Green Beans -- of which there is very little. If you had anything to enjoy about the Jets, you wouldn't be wasting time here bashing the Patriots. Your team sucks, you suck ... I'd say your mother sucks too, but she probably doesn't. Actually, Mariota better pray the Jets don't land him. They will ruin him.

He won't go there though. The Jags, Bucs, and Titans all probably will have worse records than the Jets and all have needs for a QB. The Jets would have to trade a kings ransom to the Raiders to jump over those teams to get him. At least two first rounders and probably another high pick or two.

The Jags drafted Bortles, they will not draft Mariota. But yeah, in typical Jets fashion we'll probably win two or three meaningless games, thus taking us out of the Mariota race .

I am not like most Pats fans. I've actually rooted for the Jets at times over the years. Crygate and the addition of The Mouth That Roared has changed things dramatically for me though.

During the B&B era, the team in the AFCE that has given us the most trouble is the Dolphins.

I forgot about Bortles. But the Vikes and Rams still could finish ahead of the Jets in the draft order too and both need QBs. Hell, if Mallett sucks for the Texans, they might even finish with a higher draft pick.

But I can almost guarantee you that the Jets will finish with a 4-12 or 5-11 record to get a lower top ten pick which they will probably blow.

The Dolphins are the Patriots true AFCE rivals:

The Jets haven't won a damned thing since the merger, and have the worst franchise record of all the AFCE teams. The Bills went to 4 straight SBs. The Dolphins went to 3 straight SBs in the 70's, won two of them, and got another crack at it in the 80's.

This year will mark the 12th playoff appearance for the Patriots during the Brady era. The Jets have only made the playoffs 14 times in their entire franchise history. That too is the lowest in the division.

Who cares what the Dolphins did forty years ago and what the Bills did twenty years ago? The Jets have been more successful than the Bills and Dolphins over the last fifteen years and it isn't even close.
