Darrelle Revis sat at his locker and got ready for Patriots practice when he heard a familiar voice behind him. It taunted him. "I'm coming at you today, 2-4!"

That voice has been the source of so much trash talk directed at Revis over the course of this season that the corner doesn't even need to look up anymore to know who it is. It's just Tom Brady doing what Tom Brady does.

"Alright," Revis will shout back at him. "I'm gonna pick you off if you try me once or twice!"

Since joining the Patriots as a free agent this offseason, Revis has had a chance to get to know Brady up close. He's had a chance to see what makes Brady tick. The two were very familiar with each other through the six years Revis spent with the Jets, but their experience as teammates has given Revis a whole new respect for what makes Brady great.

"I've never seen a guy in all my years playing sports somebody being as competitive as him," Revis said. "It was hidden. It was hidden. He always had it in him. Even at Michigan, he had it in him. He had it in him. His number was called a while ago when Drew [Bledsoe] went down, and he's been a competitor. He has that chip on his shoulder, and that's how he plays. He won't let nobody take that away from him. That's the chip on his shoulder of what he's been through and that's how he's successful, and that's how he plays.

Pretty funny read

"Trash talk" has several forms. You get guys on the field during games running their mouths off with a lot of non sense and without purpose. That's the negative form of Trash Talk.
This kind of trash talk where a couple of veteran players who are friendly with each other do some good natured prodding before/during practice is vastly different from the negative kind (at least IMHO).

Is it weird that while reading that and admiring the respect from Revis i got tingles in my pants?

Tom Brady

So was Bird.

Really? I didn't know that, at least on a widespread level, anyway. That's interesting, but not surprising. Bird was another who played with a definite chip on his shoulder, and for good reason.

bird was the king of trash talk. kc jones would call a time out. larry on his way to the bench would tell the player garding him where on the floor he was going to shoot a three in his face. then after the time out he would go to that spot on the floor and nail a three pointer right in the guys face . larry had balls the size of basketballs.

I can't remember what documentary it was, I think it was on one of the Super Bowl DVDs, but I remember Willie McGinest was talking and saying "We have one guy on our team who thinks he's the best at everything" and then it cut to Brady punting and chirping about it. It was a funny bit but I have no doubt that Brady talks ****.

Now we know why thugs like Suggs hate Brady so much! LMAO

Apparently brady is one of the biggest trash talkers in the league, according to richard sherman

There is a difference between talking trash, and talking shyt... the former is an art form elevated by the best in the business, the latter is just stupid street talk used by marginal people...

Agreed. There is a fine line. Brady's trash talk is of the annoying/getting under your skin variety. Bird was of the same variety.

Good article about one of the greatest trash talkers ever: Bill Russell.

Michael Jordan was also a notorious trash talker. Now, I am not comparing Brady to Jordan... Wait, yes I am!
The difference is that I don't think Tom Brady punches his teammates at practice if they do get the best of him.

It was the America's Game show. 03 or 04 championship team. Although, I bet people have reused that clip because it's pretty funny.
