Who is the best team in the NFC?

I have no idea and usually by mid November I do have a view on the best team in each Conference.

Not Dallas or Detroit. QB in both cases plus HC in Detroit's case.
San Fran is way too volatile and I've never been sold on Kaepernick and I just don't like Harbaugh.
I can't see Arizona. QB, etc. I see them finishing 4--3, tops.
That leaves Seattle, GB or Philly and I think it's one of them. Seattle's got issues without the 12th man and have even looked (and been) vulnerable at Home this season. I'm still not comfortable with all the hand waving and dummy signal senders and whatever else Chip Kelly does...and, at some critical point, Sanchez will be Sanchez.
So, put a gun to my head and I go with Aaron Rodgers.

If the Lions maxes out their potential on offense, they will be deadly in the Playoffs
Getting Megatron back will help.

I have no idea how good the Lions are. Anxious to see how they play vs NE, AZ and @ GB.

NFC is wide open. GB is a good choice.

Whats interesting is that if the playoffs were to start today, they would be on the outside looking in.

Can you imagine a NE vs Eagles Super Bowl? There would be a butt fumble clip played every 3 minutes if Sanchez was still playing!

I think the NFC will be either the Lions or the Seahawks. I don't think Green Bay will get far in the playoffs because of that defense of theirs. I'm not buying into SF yet with Harbaugh half out the door but you never know I suppose.

...
If Sanchez gets the Eagles to the SB, I don't think people will be talking too much about the Butt Fumble after he got them past the teams he'd have to get them past to get there, unless the SB is against the Pats, in which case I would be way worried that it would just give him more motivation.

Probably go with the Seahawks. They are not as good as they were last season but they still have a good team overall and Carroll is a solid HC.

I do not trust Romo and the Cowboys otherwise I would consider saying them.

I think the packers are kind of overrated quite honestly. They have been playing well lately at home against bad teams.

But look what happened against the saints. They got their doors blown off. They are a soft team imo

49ers on the other hand went in therd and stole a game in that dome.

It's wide open, all the top teams have major holes. I would put GB and then the Lions, but wouldn't be suprised if any of the other teams make it through

Seattle is not even close to the best team right now. Their OL sucks, their pass rush is minimal and their receivers are average, perhaps not even that. Doesn't mean it can't come together as the season goes along, but I would expect them to lose to virtually every other top NFC team on a neutral field at this moment. Even at home it isn't much more than a 50/50 proposition.

You have far more faith in the press than I. I would fully expect a complete documentary detailing "the rough road Sanchez took to get here" including all of his misfortunes with the Jets. Those guys would never miss out on another chance to show that footage.

I'm pulling for Philly because if Sanchez ends up starting for them in the Super Bowl it will kill every Jets fan on the planet and cause years of second guessing.

I remain completely unsold on Detroit.

Miami should have beaten them - in Detroit.

Look at their schedule so far - it's not just who you play, it's when you play them and where you play them:

W1: They beat the Giants in Detroit. The Giants suck. Except for a very short stretch, they have sucked all year.

L1: The got killed by the Panthers in Carolina. The Panthers are a shell of last year's team.

W2: They beat Green Bay in Detroit. Most impressive game so far, and they caught the Packers when they were still trying to figure out who they were (think KC vs. NE). Green Bay will repay them in Green Bay.

W3: They beat the Jets by 7 in New York.

L2: They lost to Buffalo in Detroit.

W4: They beat the Vikings in Minnesota. The Vikings, by this point, were even more terrible.

W5: They beat NO in Detroit. NO isn't good. On the road, NO isn't good at all. Detroit won by 1 point.

W6: They beat Atlanta in England. Atlanta...by 1 point.

W7: They beat Miami in Detroit. by the skin of their lucky teeth. The Dolphins would beat them in Miami, and on a neutral field.

Detroit is a middle-of-the-road team benefiting by playing Minn twice, Chicago twice, the terrible NFC South and getting a pair of squeakers against the worst three of the AFC East so far.

They've still got Chicago twice, Tampa bay, and Minnesota, so they are likely a playoff team and might even win the division. I have a hard time seeing them going very far beyond that, however. They aren't that good.

As things stand, Dallas would be my pick - I can't believe I typed that! Philly will have trouble as the weather gets colder, and Dallas can run the rock as well as anyone. Honestly, right now, if the Pats or Broncos don't win the trophy, I'll be surprised.

No doubt, they'll play the tape and the story; it's great stuff. But, I think it will be just part of the story and not "All Butt Fumble All the Time" like it was after that game.

Agree on your assessment of Detroit, even if I do worry about Suh's dirty play when our guys are on the field and hope Megatron gets lost on Revis Island when they come to town.

Disagree re Dallas. I just don't see Romo taking them all the way. Philly's a cold weather team, so even tho I'm not saying they win the Conference, I'm not sure what you're saying there. As I said above, I'm looking for Aaron Rodgers to be playing in Arizona in February.

Yes, the Pats and Broncos are the clear picks in the AFC, but it's a long way from over and I'm not writing off Indy, Seattle and whomever emerges battle-hardened from the North...stranger things have happened. Any one of those five teams could be hot in December and January.

I have really no clue but i'll have an idea over the next few weeks a lot of tests for those team in contention for best team in the NFC. Decent amount of games between those teams.

Would not sleep on SF. They could be like the giants of the past yrs. They get willis, bowman and aldon smith back. Still have both division games vs seattle and a home ARI game.

The NFC isn't as strong as it was in the past season or two...

Quite amazed at the sharp turnabout. Last year it could've been argued at least the top two, if not more, teams were in the NFC (Seattle and SF) if measuring the entirety of offense, defense and special teams.

While I always argue that in the NBA, defensive effort and commitment to run all game, can get any team a win almost any night, I don't feel the same way about the NFL. Sure, there's "any given Sunday" as a corollary, but by and large the sheer amount of skills, across the entirety of a roster, necessary to execute well enough to win, tilts the scales toward both talent and coaching.

Add in the amount of points scored on limited possessions and it's a recipe for consistency in MOST cases on that coaching and talent aspect.

Would not sleep on SF.

The NFC, just like we've been discussing re: the AFC, may very well come down to the simplicity of home field.

The two candidates most likely to benefit - the same two as last year - Seattle noise and Denver altitude, but Green Bay cold is way up the charts too as is KC.

While I agree that home field benefits EVERY team, there are a few that benefit SLIGHTLY more by it and in the playoffs that can be the difference in closely matched teams.

nobody in the NFC scares me right now.

Seattle and SF will be LUCKY if they make the playoffs. whichever one does sneak in, they will be playing on the road in New Orleans where drew brees can still hurt a team, how fitting would it be to have Seattle make the playoffs as a wildcard at 10-6 and travel to a 7-9 saints only to be knocked out by a lesser team.

Green bay has no defense, Detroit has no consistency, the eagles are teh eagles, and the cowboys still have choke artist Romo at QB.

The cardinals are the most complete team, but they just lost their QB.

The NFC really is a crapshoot this year.

Looks like the power has shifted back to the AFC.

I guess I'd go Green Bay due to Rodgers and their offense.

This years NFC reminds me of 06. Just get there and you have a great shot of getting that 4th ring.
